I think this game sold a lot digitally. An MMO is the kind of game you play so much the digital copy is just convent.

maybe SE should allowed "dps parses" on the PS4?? (even though, those are overrated...., seems many endgame raiders count on them, sadly..)

epical endgame content, new expansions, heavy challenging (endgame) raids, cool classes (and cool class-system in general....) ect. ect...

FFXIV deserves to sell at least like Diablo 3 or Destiny..

(and you'll be glad, that it has a subscription, keeping many kids away from it., besides every since I reached the epical endgame content, I buy less new games on release day.. instead get them cheaper/used later ...resp. with the subscription Im actually saving money all together.., you'll understand once you start doing those ex primals and coils..)

(the game is so gorgeous..., it should be easy to make some "non-mmo" players curious about the game...)

but still wished, that it hit harder on the PS4..., I see TESO selling better on the PS4, thanx to Skyrim's good influence it had before and thanx to FFXIII bad influence it had on the FF franchise.. (besides the scary lookning PS3 version of FFXIV...)

FFXIV is so gorgeous, practly bugfree, well balanced (thax to the updated, addons ect. since 2010 and 2013...), and deserves to sell more on the PS4....

and really ALL PS3 FFXIV fans should upgrade to the PS4 version! and any RPG fan should check out FFXIV...., even if your not into MMOs... (MMOs will start to hit in on the PS4/XO gen, more than ever..., FFXIV is a great start)

Yeah Tombraider might have started off better, but once its legs are gone, all its moneymaking ability is gone. FFXIV has subscriptions which will drive its profits so big numbers aren't a necessity. Remember, FFXI is the most profitable game SE has made to date and it sold a fraction of the best selling FF mainline games (that weren't online). With 2 million subscribers and counting across all platforms, I count this as a win. And more players will migrate to PS4 as time goes by and they get tired of their PS3 choppiness.

true, it's a Port, like Tombraider..., but for a "Port", it's still not soo hot, even Tombraider started better.. (and FF should be the bigger Franchsie..., but then again, MMO's really are not "in" (yet) on consoles.... ,and FFXIII scared off a few)

wonder how many are PS3 users porting.. ; eitherway, it's nice, that they brought to the PS4... (upgraded versions, like Tombraider, FFXIV, TLOUs ect. are cool.., even if they're milking the cow with this.., still glade that they doing it fro some big games..., I'd even rebuy Skyrim, if they brought a PS4 version out (incl. all DLCs)...., instead of TESO..)

eitherway, hope they keep pushing FFXIV and bring some big expansions... (after playing this, I'd prefere a new big openworld FF than FFXV...)

These sales are not that bad considering it's a port of a game that's been out for six months on PS3 and PC. But one has to also take into account that PS3 users had the option of upgrading for free so that took a large bite out of sales. Still, if even one player plays the game for a year, at over $150 for the subscription fee alone, that's like buying 3 games (if that person went the free upgrade avenue, 4 if they bought a copy for the PS4). MMO numbers aren't as telling as other genres.

guess to many crapy FFs on the PS3 and 360, is having an effect on FFXIV sales.., afraid it micht not even reach half of the PS3 sales, if it starts off like this...(maybe it's doing better the EU? those numbers aren't out yet..)..

a big pitty, this game is unexpectedly epical and looks MUCH better than the PS3 version (it looks like what it was ment to look like)..and desersves to sell more the TESO (wich is unexpectedly crapy-ish....)

... hope word will spread how great this is on the PS4 and it will get long legs.. (if MMO's can get long legs at alle...)
