A lot of things can mean more than userbase. For example, we all know that Metal Gear Solid 3 is the lowest selling game in the main series, despite launching during the holiday season and getting great reviews. A lot of this had to with the fact that it launched in 2004, when the hype for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo 2 was immense. These two large titles made MGS3 almost obscure to anyone but its fans, and its sales suffered. Metal Gear Solid 4 is a long anticipated game by fans of the PS3, even if not everyone is going to buy it. One example of this is that Super Smash Bros Melee sold better than the original on the Nintendo 64 despite the Gamecube having a lower userbase. The Gamecube had a high attach rate and Melee was hailed as one of the GC's top games, leading to its higher sales. Despite the much lower userbase, Metal Gear Solid 4 still has a devoted fanbase and a lot of hype behind it. And a bundle too. It might not do as well as the first two, but it can still sell a good amount and pass 4 milion. Sorry, that was a little long and winding. What can I say, it's my favorite Beatles song. I mean, fans who have been looking forward to this game are going to be looking at the reviews and they're great, but not exactly praising (It's hard to make a 9/10 not seem negative when there are a thousands complaints from the reviewer attempting to back it up). With the limited 5 million install base in the US, this killer app has a lot of weight on it (and I know several PS3 owners who flat out don't want the game). I think whoever put MGS4 in the game database wanted only the limited edition box art because that's what they'll have. It's only right to have the reg edition box art for MGS4 because that's how it always is on EVERY game added or have both with only one that has sales for it. Message \| Report

Getting over 1mil in Na sounds like a dream for the game, as Gta4 Ps3 barely got over that. I think in Europe it will launch in the 400k range not that high like you put it. In Japan, I can't say. The Ps3's userbase is so tiny and the sales are so pitiful weekly, but the Mgs series has been rising in popularity every release there.
