What the hell happened? Anyway I'm happy it's a million seller. GOTY 2012.

@Heavenly_King: Well it's not "the same game with DLC" because Dark Arisen's extra content isn't available as DLC just like with other capcom re-releases. It looks like it's becoming a trend, they did the same With NG3: Razor's Edge, just added it's sales for to NG3.

@girgosz: This is more like "selling the same game with DLC" edition rather than a new version of the game. This is something like Oblivion GOTY re-release.

Wow VGC. So you never heard of consistency. DR: Off The Record, Super Street Fighter IV, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom and just about every other capcom re-release's sales were all counted sepereatly. So it makes no sense to add Dark Arisen's sales to the original game's sales.

They shipped another 100K in the quarter ended Dec 31 2012 for a total of 1.3 million.

if not for Japan's numbers this game would have actually sold about the same as the 360 version

Right now VGC has it at 1.1 million sold on PS360. And I just learned that Capcom has shipped 150K in the last Quarter (ending Sep 30) for a total of 1.2 million shipped (their original target was 1.5 million lifetime). Also, not only will we get a big expansion DLC soon called "Dark Arisen", but Capcom also announced that Dragon's Dogma will become a series.

very odd to see that the mass of negative PR that capcom has stirred up with on disk dlc and not localizing some popular series of games has had 0 effect on the sales in Japan, guess they're perfectly fine with being treated like dirt, thankfully the EU and NA sales of this are a proper reflection on the feelings towards Capcom at the moment.

Good Japanese game sell great all over the world. Meanwhile good western games (based on western IPs and developed by western studios) sell like crap in japan; so no, it is not the same.

Uh, yeah. What you guys are talking about obviously works both ways. Look at the sales of this game, terrible, terrible sales worldwide, whereas in Japan it has decent sales. Despite the western market being how much bigger than the Japanese market? Yeah. Western games sell like shit in Japan, while Japanese games sell like shit in the western market. There are exceptions to the rule but it is still a rule. Stop talking out of your asses.

Japanese are xenophobic game-wise. That is what I have been saying for years now, this is a western RPG, and sells good in Japan. Meanwhile Skyrim sells like crap there.

Also, Operation Racoon City is a game based in a Japanese IP so it sold great in japan. But any other western shooter sells like crap.

I bet that if God of War was made by "Sony Japan" it would sell GAZILLIONS there!

IEATBABIES

HURR DURR, have you seen the Japanese sales

the Japanese hate western rpg but since capcom japs made it they will buy it

the Japanese are very strange, in Japan capcom screws them over with on disk dlc and day one dlc yet THEY NEVER COMPLAIN, only in America and Europe

japs are cunts

You know what's weird about this? Capcom was treating the Xbox 360 version as superior and that the Xbox 360 would get the Resident Evil 6 demo 1st and Microsoft cut a deal with them; probably spent $50 million again to be the best version of the two and it didn't come close to the sales of PS3's version. PS3 sold about 3 times as much.

Great game, you've got to be willing to spend some time with it, get your level built up before you can go adventuring, but once you do, the game opens up into an excellent RPG. It is pretty incredible, and the pawn system is really cool, constantly evolving my party with everybody else that plays the game.

Nice opening week despite the unfair reviews (this game deserves a 95% Meta). Seems to get over 250K in the West on PS360 and over 300K in JPN. A guaranteed million seller on the PS3.

The graphics are highly above average. I was breathtaken by the beauty of the home village. Especially the astone architecture is amazing. You also have long view distance, awesome. But who cares about the graphics when the game is so good. Not only is it my GOTY but in my top 5 game series of all time.

Great game, huge and wonderful world, well-made battle and class system, average animations, below-average graphics, and non-existent story, which is understandable for this kind of games... Very addictive and much better than what I expected.

I am hoping for 1 million before end of year and 1.5 million lifetime. Optimistic I know but this game is so fantastic that it has to sell.
