I bet it's over 3 million if we count digital sales and holidays are upon us. It's really sad that some people call a 3 million+ game a bomb.

@thewastedyouth: Well, to be fair, Japan likes games where they can SEE the character they're controlling. And that character needs to have spiky blue or blond hair. Oh yeah, they have to use swords as their primary weapon also.

I'm shocked that this game can't sell a million on PS3! I've heard some news reports about this game being a sales and critical success, but it looks like that's not reality.

@drakesfortune: I thought the story was amazing, and far more grandiose and epic in scale than Bioshock 1. The way it deals with concepts like alternate universes (as well as racial/class inequality) is truly grand in scope, and unlike any story I've seen in a game before. My guess is that you just got lost in the parallel universes storyline, and that's why you didn't get it.

This game was SO well set up. The first half was great. Then...I don't really get what happened. It got boring, and then at the end it was just...incomprehensible. I had to go online and Google wtf the end meant. The first 10 hours were still fun...but I definitely hit a wall with this game, and that was not the case with Bioshock 1, or even Bioshock 2. The story just isn't as good. The setting isn't as good. The mystery isn't really there. I don't know. Bioshock is my number 2 game of this gen. So Infinite definitely bummed me out. Maybe my expectations were just too high?

Considering that this game was nothing stellar; these sales are expected. Worth of mouth worked negatively on this game.

Uhm....so...did this game bomb? Sales are really quite low on a per system basis. Too bad. Lots of work went into this one, and its a good game.

I agree completely with morenoingrato. Do not read the spoilers that people posted without
warning below. It will take from the ending if you do. And to post spoilers without warning is cheap, anyways.

Just finished it. The ending is very clever, a lot of thought went into it, but it is a little forced and heavy-handed at times. The game is expansive, detailed, and beautiful. It was surprisingly buggy. A couple times it froze and required a complete system restart. And about 3 other times it sort of half-froze. By that I mean the game was active, so where Elizabeth and Booker, but nothing was happening, and I had to restart the game. A few times I found surfaces that were not complete as well. Combat was good, but it sometimes became confusing, and other times it became a drawn out grind to beat the boss (Elizabeth's "mother" comes to mind, here). The social and religious commentary is a little disingenuous (precious?) for such a gory shooter. So I now evaluate it as a good, ambitious, thought-provoking game that needed about six more months of development to make it a masterpiece. I wish all games had stories as good as this one and with as much effort put into them. Despite the rough patches.
