I don't know about you guys, but I am EXTREMELY happy about the SFxTK flop. This is UMvC3 flop brings a smile to my face.

I went out of my way to buy SFxTK, UMvC3, and UMvC3 Vita all used. I look forward to buying SFxTK Vita used this fall, connect it to my PS3, and get the 12 "DLC" characters for free, all while not paying Capcom a single red cent. I also plan on buying ALL Capcom games used for the foreseeable future.

For a cross over of two HUGE fighting franchising these numbers are downright embarrassing. Capcom has blamed market over saturation for low numbers, but in essence, are basically blaming themselves. Too many re-releases confuse consumers at retail. Also, releasing a "definitive" version at a lower price too close after the original release rewards those who hold off and burns early adopters.

I expect a $20 price drop in the next couple of weeks to clear overstock at retail.

@Garland
Yeh, thats why i put "I doubt there is 830,000 copies lying on shelves". I know there numbers were shipped to retailers, but 830,000 copies difference between shipped and sold is probably too much, so i think its slightly under tracked on here. Possibly by 2/300,000.

That 1.4 million sales is actually sold to retailers, not to consumers.

I would have been rather annoyed if i had it on 360, not being able to play with my friends online would have been a major letdown. This game just doesn't have the fun factor of Super street fighter 4 Arcade edition Version 2012. Hopefully after this and UMVC3 they will have learned their lesson and we will get better more complete games because of it. I'm hoping Tekken Tag 2 sells about as well as Tekken 6, then Capcom will finally take notice .

HAHAHA!!!! ssf4, mvc, umvc, and now sfxt have all been flops, selling well below projections. and this is well-deserved; as so many of you have mentioned, capcom's business practices are immoral, unwise, and show how just what a lowly view they have of their customers. just to reiterate:
1. releasing "super" or "arcade edition" or "ultimate" versions of the same game, all with a premium price tag, rewarding late arrivals and hold-outs while punishing their loyal day-one customers;
2. charging ridiculous prices for ridiculous dlc...$20 for a costume pack consisting of palette swaps?!
3. charging people for content they have already bought, trying to pawn it off as "dlc" even though it is really regular in-game content ON the actual disc!

it seems as though there shenanigans have finally caught up with them. they have alienated even their most dedicated fans and have definitely lost the fighting game wars to warner bros./nrs, who are gut-laughing all the way to the bank; mortal kombat has sold more than ssf4, mvc, umvc, and sfxt COMBINED!

Honestly after the weak legs of MvC3 i thought they mightve learned a thing or too about scamming people...

I would have bought this game on day one, if Capcom didnt have the crappy practice of re-re-releasing the same game after some months of the initial release. And now, that we also know that a lot of characters were locked on the DISK in order to make them DLC; I will continue to do this (and buy the super premium extra ultimate arcade edition) with all the Capcom fighting games until they adopt another business model.

What a sad thing to do because their games are great; but I dont plan on buying a game twice, like they forced people with SSFIV, and UMvC3 if they wanted to play the enhanced version with more content.

The game would have sold almost 1M only on PS3 if Capcom didnt have that kind of business model; because people would have bought it day 1 knowing that if extra content is made, they can buy it as DLC. Hopefully Capcom will change soon.

Yes, capcom, please pull the same scam with the next game. Just, leave the content off the disc. It's still the same salt business practice. But, people wont care. Just put the same salt content on their hard drives.

Make them download it. Leave it off the disc. Same business practice. Like it matters where the content is stored. Crap business models is still crap. But, people are stupid.

It doesn't really deserve more....all the unlockables are paid for DLC.....
We are paying full price for half a game here....

This game is perfect, I love every bit of it! Deserves to sell way more, unfortunately many people are holding back buying Capcom's games due to their business model (SFIV, MvC3 re-releases).
