Dead or Alive: Dimensions (3DS) > Opinions (46)

This game actually didn't do too badly when you look at the performances of DoA 5 and 4, but it's a damn shame that Team Ninja missed the launch. I honestly think that if this launched with the system it could have sold another 100k.

such an amazing graphical achievement on a handheld, this is even closer to the xbox360 versions of dead or alive than the port of ssf4 is graphically speaking. well worth the money if you are looking for some fighting action and street fighter isn't your bag or you've already played it on the consoles considering this game is actually a new title with full movie campaign going back through the story of all the games in the series, whereas ssf4 is a port of the console version straight up.

I've played the demo and this game is really enjoyable. The use of the touch screen to display moves on the fly really helps with the shortcoming of the 3D fighter genre by not requiring you to memorise so many different strings per character. They all show up on the fly in your bottom screen. I will definitly get this at some point in the future and it deserves more sales.

How is VGCHARTZ undertracking this game by so much? Pretty sure it was confirmed the game sold more than 310,000 copies months ago.....

If Street Fighter weren't in the midst of a second golden age, this might be selling better. As it is... meh sales, but it should keep selling a few thousand a week at least until Tekken comes out and the holidays end.

The fact that SSFIV launched with the 3DS may have hindered this game, an Tekken coming soon won't help it either.

really good game : graphics & animations are amazing (I didn't think 3DS could do that), deep gameplay... a must-have on 3DS!

great game, I recommend it to any fighting fan, it's a lot bigger than any Dead or alive game with story splitted in chapters, nice graphics, a lot of moves, great gameplay, Wi-fi matches, lots of characters.. come on guys just buy one of the best 3DS games already! :)

@salnax your overestimating the appeal of DOA, Tekken is way more popular, waay more. No matter what the DOA fans tell you. This game is actually pretty good though

I bought my 3DS for Zelda, but surprisingly playing Dead or Alive - Dimensions more. Primarily because of all the quick play options including excellent online over wi-fi.

@Heavenly_King Douubtful. With the exception of the Dissidia series and that one Tekken game from '06, I can't think of any fighters that did well on the PSP. Although it's worth noting that the legs for Tekken were very impressivr, suggesting thsat this game will keep on selling for the rest of the 3DS's life.

@Heavenly_King, I suppose that explains the sales for SSF43D, right?

this kind of games are not meant for a DS. That is why it sells so bad. If this is to be released for the VITA it will sell much more

AS much as it is early on in the systems life this really should have opened more favourably... lets just hope the legs for this are long lived

Salnax posted 04/06/2011, 02:33
Not great, but considering the initial legs in EMEAA and how well DS games have done over the long term, a million still isn't impossible. THis is just not a system seller.

what were people expecting this to sell?? 1 its not like the 3DS has a massive install base right now 2 the more popular SSF4 has already released and 3 the DOA series is not that popular. Not on the level of MK, Tekken or even VF
