StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty (PC) > Opinions (41)

I've gotta say, I played it initially a year and a half ago. And was dissapointed, I thought the characters acted different than in SC1. The BNET2.0, was annoying. After time, I enjoyed the story a lot more. And the game is effing polished I love it. 2vs2 ranking games with my brother is great great fun.

DrozzRith where did you get this data?
PC games are so untertracked here. And i mean physical copis not to mention Online stores.
This probaby has sold well over 6 mln copies.

nilli, I would agree with you for the first time in my life IIIIIIFFFF, Blizzard hadn't stated that they had sold over 2 million copies of the game on their online store, and that they had sold over 4 million copies in all of Asia (wich vgchartz doesn't track) and that there are at the very least, 2 million people paying the fee to play online, wich is almost the same price as the game itself. So if you put all those facts together and translate them into dollars, this game sold easily 13 million copies.

These sales are not right...massively undertracked. It is a sad relaity though

You can sell 5 million units of games on pc when you develop it for 10 years. Have it be the successor for the most successfull RTS game of all time. Also the first game has to be a national sport in some country. Scrap Lan support to prevent piracy and focus extremely heavily on the multiplayer aspect of the game. Have your own battlenet system to prevent the piracy and advertice this game like no tomorrow. Then you have the chance to sell millions on pc. You think that it is really worth it. IDIOTS! 5 million for a game this caliber is SHIT!

Don't forget it has at least 4-5 million extra copies sold in South Korea alone. VG Chartz doesn't track everywhere.

Also at least 2 million sales from digital version. The total sales of Starcraft 2 are over 5 million copies

@nilli don't forget it's a niche genre, not your casual console crap like gears, cod and so on, and since it's considered a dying genre this many sales unbelieveable.

Oh my god so pc game can make good sales numbers. When you drop the lan support. Develop the game for 10 years. Make the game heavily multiplayer focused so that it is basically impossible to pirate. When you have first game that people are still playing so you got all the hype and when you advertise this game like no tomorrow. LOL!

Agree with the previous comments. The game has already sold 4.5 mil according to the Activision Blizzard's declarations, VGChartz PC game tracking is complete bull.

This'll just keep edging up and up as the years go by like the first. Impressive number given the downloads aren't included.

Exactly. BLizzard said it sold 3 million copies in the first month. Whilst their retail number may have been shipped it still implies that the battle.net sales are impressive!

I'm guessing Korea will count as Others right?

We can definetly see a HUGE number for others since Starcraft is an actual sport there like Baseball for NA and futbol for EU
