Best Mario Kart, I cannot count the hours I've played this. Both solo and with friends and family. Even in the newer versions, the tracks ported from this one are the most fun. Ah, I'd wish it was the N64 days all over again! Message | Report |

i can't beleive poeple's talking about Didi Kong Racing. This game was SO much better and the multi was a blast. This game and Goldeneye was a good reason to own a N64 Message | Report |

The best Mario Kart game, no doubt about it. SNES version a close 2nd place. I never got into Diddy Kong Racing, I just didn't enjoy playing it, and always preferred Mariokart 64. Message | Report |

You've probably never played Diddy Kong Racing. It actually had a story. And real things to unlock. And a challenge. And levels that had so much charm and style it was amazing. It was Rare at their finest. Mario Kart on the other hand, is like play the same courses over and over and you might win a trophy. It doesn't even have mixed circuits, like in Diddy Kong Racing, that involve races + a battle mode. Message | Report |

diddy kong racing was Sh*t compaired to this game, i own a ps3 and we my brother n my dad still go back n have a game of this 1 every so often. it had that magic sprinkle that only a mario kart game can have. Message | Report |

My favorite Mario Kart, items(most notably Blue Shells) weren't so annoying as in Double Dash. Best Battle mode in the series and the co-op grand prix is made of a lot of win. Message | Report |

I can't understand why people are loving this game that much. For me it's the worst Mario Kart, Double Dash is so much better. The best racing game on N64 is Diddy Kong Racing, for sure. Message | Report |

This Mario Kart feels more of a Mario Kart game than Double Dash, DS, and Super Circuit. When you play it, you know that you're playing a Mario Kart game. It has that Mario magic to it. It "is" Mario. Double Dash is good, but it's too silly. DS, and Super Circuit are good, but they just don't have that magical atmosphere that Mario Kart 64 beholds. Message | Report |

I think that the AI only went faster if they were close enough to you. If I ever luckily get the star on Kalamari desert at the start, I just speed pass the train part (the other racers have to stop), I get way far ahead, and the AI characters never seem to get that magical speed boost. Another thing - on 50cc the racers don't pass you, they just tail you really closely. The best character is Yoshi! Message | Report |
