Tried playing this recently and I'm surprised by how bad it is. Ugly graphics for PS2 standards and the game play mechanics feel more dated than a title from '04 should.

I hope the PS3 version feels more.

It definitely sold over a million. I often wonder how much this game actually sold! Did it pull the same kind of numbers Killzone 2 & Killzone 3 did, or did Killzone 2 actually expand the franchise?

This game is such a piece of crap. They should probably remake it with the current Killzone engine and this version from history.

Wow 770,000+ copies only tracked in the americas alone? Thats a lot! Im going to assume Emeaa is atleast 300,000 lifetime, so this game actually did hit past a million despite the mixed reviews back then. This is good, especially for a ps2 game

This game is not average. It's at least as good as any non average shooter. Plus the choice of 4 playable characters adds variety of play styles. The silenced gun of what's_her_name was an excellent one shot one kill stealth killing tool. Rico's heavy machine gun was unstoppable for run-and-gun style play. Pretty fun. Pretty good.

lol a 0.75 mil selling game is given a sequel as the biggest fps game on the ps3. sony put in so much money, resources, hype into k2..after k1 flopping. yet the ps2 game, the getaway, sold 3.37 million but doesnt even get a sequel. That makes no sense. Similarly, the socom series has sold 10 million copies but that game is given from the greatest ps2 online dev (zipper) to a 3rd class psp game developer who is told to recreate it for the ps3 so zipper can make M.A.G

dont get me wrong, i would MUCH rather play killzone 2 than the getaway 2 (i hated the first one), but i just dont understand sony's business approach.

HOW IS THIS GAME BAD? Its on the PS2, the graphics are stunning, gameplay is top-notch. Sure, a few graphical glictches but nothing major and nothing that will detract from the overall experience.

A near masterpiece.

lol, I remember when xbots used to flood gaming forums saying that this game floped and didn't even sell 10,000 copies. lol wow.

It's kinda strange there is only figures for the first 2months only for NA and we all know EU supported the hell out of Killzone especially the Polish gamers.

This game has moved over 2million units to date and I'm very proud that the Playstation community did not let editorial reviews dictate our gaming tastes cause had we let them have their way we most likely would not have an exceptional game like Killzone II now.

Great game and one of my most favourites next to Half Life for FPS genre.

Also, this game was much more popular in it's home territory of Europe than in the US, because it received more advertising and even a special edition. The devs have stated that the game sold over 2 million worldwide, and if it sold more in Europe than it did in the US, that is entirely reasonable.

Well ps2 has sold about 130 million and X box original has sold like 30 million, so you can see how badly the system was rejected. HAHA

Look at gears of war. It's already sold 4.3 million copies when only 10 million of the consoles are even sold. PS2 had over 70 million consoles out when killzone was released, and it only sold 2 million.
