Summary

Sumio Mondo is a professional “searcher” who is hired to avert an impending plane crash with tragic consequences in the adventure game Flower, Sun and Rain on Nintendo DS. After failing to defuse the bomb that destroys the aeroplane once, Sumio discovers he‘s caught in a continuous timeloop where he’s forced to try and prevent the disaster over and over again. The question is – can he succeed before completely losing his sanity?

Take a trip to Lospass Island and help Sumio retain his grip on reality as the surrounds of the Flower, Sun and Rain hotel get decidedly more bizarre by the day. In order to unravel the mysteries that plague the island, you’ll encounter a whole range of characters with tricky problems that need solving. From a wrestler who needs to regain his form, to a girl who’s lost her little pink pet, the obstacles are eclectic, often eccentric, but always amusing. Despite the serious theme, Flower, Sun and Rain is infused with a tongue-in-cheek sense of humour that never takes itself too seriously and will have adventure fans chuckling knowingly throughout.

Many of the puzzles are solved by means of a leather briefcase called Catherine (of course), which can be plugged into virtually any device and manipulated via the Touch Screen. Put your thinking cap on and get ready to crack some codes, because that’s the only way you’re going to get closer to the answer! Flower, Sun and Rain features bright, stylized graphics that transport you instantly to the heat of the tropical Lospass Island and an engrossing soundtrack.

  • Visit Lospass Island, the place where time stands still for Sumio Mondo.
  • Play intuitively using DS stylus and Touch Screen.
  • 18 mysterious scenarios to play through.
  • Face challenging and thought-provoking puzzles using a briefcase named Catherine!

just picked this up, fantastic game, what is up with Suda 51 and Mexican wrestlers? anyway after not being able to put the game down for several hours I still need to finish it
though I don't quite understand the logic behind porting a 3d ps2 game to the ds over the more comparable psp, but I'm glad they did anything as opposed to leaving it Japan only

I'm through now and I really liked it, even if it has it's fair share of not so good parts. 7 out of 10 (there seven means Good).

Any clue on how this sold in Japan or Others?

Also, isn't this a ps2 remake, can't find that version on this site...
