Silent Hill 3 is everything you'd want in a psychological horror outing, the game is truly an experience to be had. In this adventure, you will revisit some of the famous areas originally seen in the original Silent Hill. What will our new protagonist discover this time?

This time around you're put in the shoes of Heather Morris, a carefree teenager used to living a quiet, yet outgoing life. All that is changed, however, when Heather finds herself amongst the eerily quiet town known as Silent Hill . She must now fight her way through sickening beings to uncover the truth about her past and her worst nightmares coming true. You begin your story in a deserted mall, only for things to head downward from there. While shopping for her dad, it seems like a normal day in her life. But nothing about her day is normal, as she soon figures out that her mall trip, could be her LAST. Will Heather survive the horrific nightmare that has now befallen her, or become a casualty of the condemned town?

As you venture through the eerie environments, you will discover things unimaginable. How would ANYONE keep their sanity in such a situation, this is what you'll feel like when exploring through the gloomy town. On your journey, you will meet others within Silent Hill and try to piece together their relevance to the town, along side, trying to understand your own. These individuals could either be friend or foe, you just don't know. All you do know is, throughout this game, you're usually ALONE. Of course being that this is a Silent Hill game, puzzles are aplenty, so you shouldn't be out of things to do while exploring. Everything from solving riddles to understanding notes lying around are all present here. Heather has her work cut out for her.

Unlike previous games in the series, this game hardly ever takes place in foggy streets. This contributes to this games' unique feel when compared to it's predecessors. Fortunately, scenery doesn't change the fact that this game is STILL a Silent Hill game from the inside out. You have the usual lack of heavy weaponry. That's right, don't expect grenade launchers, bazookas and lots of high fire power. The games' lack of weaponry, keeps the "survival" element sickening real.You may find a pistol or a shotgun, but that's about it. At times though, a good ol' pipe will do the trick, something which will be necessary in this nightmare.

The monsters this time around have become more aggressive. In previous Silent Hill games, you could almost run past enemies without too many problems. Well Konami made sure this time that you wouldn't have this sort of luxury, as the monsters are bigger, faster and more cunning. Bosses are also more aggressive than before. Though these creatures move slow at times, nothing about them is simple. They will attack from every direction in all sorts of lunging attacks and tricky ways.

By the time you are done on your horrific voyage, you will feel like you've been to Hell and back. This game is truly a great representation of survival horror, and it will not cease to grip you in a compelling, yet, horrifying way.

Featuring horrifyingly realistic visuals with very cinematic gameplay, Silent Hill 3 would be hard pressed to disappoint. Everything from eerie, random screams, that ricochet off of cracks in the walls, to the sounds of random footsteps, you know you're in a world like no other. Couple that with a gripping storyline and a spooky, atmospheric soundtrack, and Silent Hill 3 is a horror classic that's bound to spook the masses for quite some time. You want to be afraid, well look no further!
