So Spider-Man had the fastest 24 hour sales but Ragnarök still holds the record for first week sales by a significant margin. This is still great though and the game should have strong legs like the first
Unless SM2 got to 4.9M in the first week and then didn't sell anything until the 11th day kkkkk
Beat mario wonder. Who would have thought.
For now. Its decently likely that the sales figures will look different, if only because Nintendo will likely provide updates on the sales more often than Sony will. Plus I suspect neither Sony or Nintendo fan would disagree there's a decent chance that Wonder probably needs less units sold to make back the cost of production than Spiderman 2 does.
definitely surprising it beat Wonder for the first two weeks. But of course Wonder is going to be a huge seller this holidays season with millions of kids asking for it for christmas. Wonder will probably be a few million ahead of Spiderman by end of the year.
in a user base of around 45 million consoles this is incredible in just 10 days. This game will sell like hotcakes this Christmas
Amazing numbers. Congrats to Insomniacs and Playstation.
Not bad, especially since it was PS5 only unlike GOW Ragnarok
Not bad but I think people expected better. Almost 50 million PS5's were sold when Spider-Man 2 launched versus 25 million PS5's when God of War: Ragnarök released. Also GoW:R sold around 80% on PS5 vs PS4 at launch too (UK but I imagine a similar result WW) so clearly a lot of people interested in the game bought a PS5 to play it rather than opt for the PS4 version.
And if that PS5 vs PS4 split for GoW:R was 4:1 WW then it still would have likely outsold SM2's 5m in 11 days on PS5 alone even with half the install base and some people purchasing the PS4 version.
So yeah, not bad but still still a fair bit behind God of War: Ragnarök's sales performance.
It is over 10% attach ratio. Mario Wonder sold less than it on a bigger window and with 3 times the userbase.
Is it not the same window? 1st week ends on the 23rd, second week ends on the 30th. So wonder sold 4.2m in 10 days. At least that is how I interpreted it.
From what I saw it was 4.2m on 14 days. But yes considering weeks and all the difference in number of days isn't much relevant, still the one for userbase is still massive.
