PlayStation's Shuhei Yoshida Releases Image of Horizon Zero Dawn Running on Steam Deck - News

PlayStation indies boss Shuhei Yoshida via Twitter has released an image of Guerilla Games' Horizon Zero Dawn running on Valve's upcoming all-in-one portable PC gaming device, the Steam Deck.
Horizon Zero Dawn first released for the PlayStation 4 in February 2017 and was later ported to PC in August 2020.
Sony Interactive Entertainment recently formed a new label for its PC gaming push as more PlayStation games are getting released on PC. The company registered PlayStation PC LLC on April 13 of this year using its California headquarters. Steam users this week spotted PlayStation had changed its PC released to PlayStation PC LLC from the PlayStation Mobile label.
PlayStation has also released Days Gone for PC, while God of War (2018) will launch for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on January 14, 2022. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will also released for PC in 2022.
It is possible Sackboy: A Big Adventure might also be getting a release on PC. A SteamDB listing for "Steel PC" has a change list by "sumoqa" and the developer for Sackboy: A Big Adventure is Sumo Digital.
The SteamDB listing also makes mention of Marmalade Content, which was in the Geforce NOW leak. In said leak Project Marmalade was Sackboy: A Big Adventure. The leak also mentioned God of War coming to PC.

Games on Steam Deck don't necessarily need a "native port" in the traditional sense. It's the regular PC version of the game. Devs just need to make sure their PC games scale and work on the Decks specific hardware. Like how they need to test their games with a variety of PC components like an Intel CPU/Nvidia GPU with 8GB RAM and HDD or AMD CPU/AMD GPU 16GB RAM and NVME SSD. Steam Deck's components just happen to be static. Which is probably why the only difference between the 3 Deck options is storage. Makes it easier for devs.
More to do with having it to go through Proton, rather it didn't. I hope devs make a specific steam deck edition so it runs on Linux.

I don't think any game will get a native port based on everything we know so far and what Valve said.
The emulation layer (Proton) is there for that and will get optimization and improve over time. At the end games will be fully playable (at least the majority of them) but that's it; the layer will not disapear and frankly it is the best strategy.
The other option tho, is to install Windows on this baby and then you can just run your games natively. My only concern with that is how good the drivers will be. Will check that whenever I get my hands on this.
Phil never did say if he had windows installed when playing halo.
I do not understand your point... Nobody installed Windows on this yet (or at least that we know off) and I did not talk about Phil Spencer?
Everything is working off Linux with the Proton layer (Including Halo) but nothing is 'native' to it; those are Windows games running ON LINUX with Proton.
That being said, Valve already confirmed that you can install other OS on it. This is why I'm going to do first and you can even boot from SD Card. So you can install another OS with emulators for instance on a SD and just boot on it...
I merely wondered if Phil was playing it through a windows installation, that was all.
