October 2020 is the 44th month that the Nintendo Switch has been available for. During the latest month, the Switch closed the gap by 1.34 million units when you align the launches of the two consoles. In the last 12 months, the Switch has outsold the Wii by 7.03 million units. The Wii is currently ahead of the Switch by 3.51 million units.

The Wii launched in November 2006, while the Nintendo Switch launched in March 2017. Therefore, the holiday periods for the two consoles do not lineup, which is why there are big increases and decreases.

The 44th month for the Nintendo Switch is October 2020 and for the Wii it is June 2010. The Switch has sold 67.77 million units, while the Wii sold 71.27 million units during the same timeframe. The Wii sold current Switch sales in month 42.

The Wii sold 101.63 million units worldwide during its lifetime. The Switch needs to sell another 33.86 million units to outsell the Wii.

Let's stop counting! The Wii has won by a large margin if we we only consider the legal sales, every sale of Nintendo Switch from now on are just black market sales, their not legal and therefore don't count. Signed, Donald J. Trump

Switch should be at around 80 millions at month 46, so it will go past the Wii a lot. It would need to sell like 4 millions in the Jan-May period to keep the ground. So pretty sure the Switch will remain above the Wii starting this holiday.

Switch is gonna absolutely blow by the Wii the next two months! Wii might not even temporarily catch up after it's next holiday season, and after that the Wii is in Switch's dust for good.

According to the gap curve support/resistance we can expect a +2M lead for Switch in January and a pullback to -2M after Wii's holiday.
