by William D'Angelo , posted 12 hours ago / 1,248 ViewsXbox chief operating officer Helen Chiang has stepped down after taking on the role in July, according to an internal memo obtained by The Verge.
Chiang had worked at Microsoft for 21 years. Before serving as Xbox COO, she was the head of Minecraft.
"Helen Chiang is leaving Microsoft today," said Xbox CEO Asha Sharma in the memo. "I’m grateful for her years of service and wish her well."
Xbox vice president of communications Kari Perez when asked for a comment on Chiang's departure stated, "We don’t discuss individual personnel matters. We’re grateful for Helen’s years of service and wish her well."
Sources have claimed she was dismissed due to a "policy violation."
Sharma when the role was announced in July stated, "For the first time, we are establishing a chief operating officer with end-to-end [profit and loss] responsibility across content, hardware, platform, and services.
"Helen Chiang has been promoted to this role and will report directly to me. Over nearly two decades at Xbox, Helen has helped build some of our most important businesses, from Xbox Live to leading Mojang and the Minecraft franchise. She will bring our businesses together under one operating model, making sure we make clear investment decisions, learn from our successes and failures, and hold ourselves accountable for results."

Everything is fine...
xbox is dead its time for microsoft to understand there is no future for them
And with that, they should spin off the Xbox software division, let Activision and Bethesda become independent again. There's no real reason for them to own game companies.
wasn't it just resently that Asha Sharma said they needed a COO? Either Helen chiang looked at the book keeping, and got scared, or she had a clash with Asha about strategy ect. "policy violation" ? I don't buy it, that sounds like a excuse you used to fire someone with.
Even Xbox can't survive being owned by Microshaft.
Rumor is she was let go because she was the one leaking a bunch of internal information. Guess we will find out eventually.
What was leaked?
Booty will be gone soon, I bet.
