Sony during the recent corporate strategy meeting discussed their partnership with Microsoft, which was announced last year. Sony views the partnership as something that will last long-term.

Sony executive vice president Toru Katsumoto says Microsoft’s Azure streaming service is "splendid" and Microsoft has explained how it works to Sony.

One of the things discussed between the two companies is the "dark time" when gamers usually play at night, which leads to congestion of the servers during those hours. A talking point is how to use the servers effectively during those times.

Katsumoto concluded by saying that in the mid to long-term the relationship with Microsoft is going to be "very strong partnership."

Sony during the same meeting said they plan to reveal PlayStation 5 games soon and the PS5 is still on track to launch in Holiday 2020.

"The launch of PlayStation 5, scheduled for holiday season of this calendar year, will deliver even more immersive experiences on a game console," said Sony. "Higher speed, enhanced sensory perceptions generated by its revolutionary controller, and sound delivered in 3D audio will combine to realize truly next generation console game experiences unlike anything before."

Haha! If Sony is using Microsoft's services, Microsoft must be cheering Sony on to do well in a way then!

It's like Microsoft said they aren't competing with Sony and Nintendo anymore. They are clearly trying to be the netflix of gaming.
