GameStop revealed it was allocated 500,000 Switch consoles for launch and 250,000 people are now on a waiting list. 1.2 million games have also been pre-ordered at GameStop.

Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime said that two million Switch consoles will be shipped in its first month.

We told 2 million in March wasn't enough, Nintendo, you need more.

I've a couple games preordered, but wasn't able to get the console; hope they get more ready or I'll have a very sad March 3rd lol... the prospect of finally holding the new Zelda game and being unable to play it gives me violent urges.

Find a store that's doing a launch at midnight or when they open... get there really early (maybe even the night before) and you'll get your console.

that happened to me with Wii and Twighlight Princess. Over two months of sitting on a game with no way to play it.

Just go really early and wait in a line people. You'll get one if you want it bad enough.

2 milion ww and 500k for Gamestop makes sense. Isnt Gamestop responsible for like 80% of the US consoles sales? Maybe 700k total for the US, 500k for Europe and the remaining for Japan + RotW? It would make sense.

Gamestop wouldnt lie about the numbers, so its either the 2 millions are for a single region or that Nintendo said to everyone 2 millions but said to retailers that they were open to ship more if needed. In any case, if this keeps selling out around the world, i think its likely that Nintendo increases the shipment.

Good find there. Hopefully we get some confirmation.

Keep in mind that Reggie is over Nintendo of America, not Nintendo worldwide, so that may support he's referring to just one region.

Gamestop operators in a lot of countries, so it's not necessarily just US numbers.

Gah, I hate it how you can't edit comments. Obviously I meant 'operates' and not 'operators'.
