Microsoft has introduced an Xbox One 'Greatest Hits' line-up of games in Japan. The first three games are available in stores now at a discounted price of 2,900 yen ($24).

The first three titles to be included in this Greatest Hits series are Ryse: Son of Rome, Sunset Overdrive, and Dead Rising 3.

Of the three, Dead Rising 3 had the biggest debut in the country, selling 7,786 units in its first week according to media Create. However, it fell off the charts in its second week. Sunset Overdrive sold 3,534 units in its first week, while Ryse: Son of Rome didn't crack the charts.

Thanks DualShockers.

When the top 3 games in the region include one that didn't chart at launch... I mean just stop? I'm sure the loyal Japanese Xbox owners do appreciate the effort that MS has put into bringing them the Xbox experience there in the East but in terms of return on investment this isn't going to pay off with more than some appreciation I think.

"For an Xbox One title to achieve 'Greatest Hits' status, it must have reached a minimum of 25 units shipped to retailers and have been on the market for a minimum of one year." -Microsoft spokesman

Why even bother? Nobody is going to buy them.

Microsoft was never going to get a foothold there without opening studios and consistently putting out what Japanese (not US or EU) gamers wanted. For example, I can't believe Lost Odyssey isn't at it's 3rd or 4th installment. They didn't even bother to show up at TGS.

I wonder how much a game has to sell to be among the greatest hits on Xbox in Japan.

all 3 xbox owners in japan already have these titles, do more for the people who buy your console, forget japan, you tried well with the X360 and they didn't care.
