Who would have guessed that the sixth (curse you, confusing numbered titling!) entry of a sagging franchise would've been the kick it needed? After the relative disappointments that were Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Assassin’s Creed III, many began questioning the effectiveness of Ubisoft’s annualization of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. But the expanded open-world, vast and explorable ocean, increased variety of missions, and gameplay refinements not only made Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag a huge improvement over its predecessors, it makes an easy argument for best in the series.
