Whilst a couple of big games may grace the launch itself, releases soon become few and far between. Microsoft also headed into a new generation needing to allay fears that they had forgotten the importance of exclusives given their approach to software towards the end of the Xbox 360's lifecycle. A strong launch line-up consisting of some big exclusive titles and staple third party multiplats went some way towards demonstrating they mean business. Here are our picks for Best Xbox One Game of 2013.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Right now, Dead Rising 3 is one of the Xbox One's best selling points. Whilst a return to form for the Assassin's Creed franchise in Black Flag and a surprisingly fantastic LEGO Marvel Super Heroes were top of the pile of multiplatform titles at launch, it was Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3 that made the argument for purchasing an Xbox One over rival consoles. Dead Rising 3, above all of the other games at launch, excited us to get our hands on Microsoft's new console the most, and the zombie sandbox fun has never been more accessible, open, and brutally joyous. Dead Rising 3 is our Best Xbox One Game of 2013.
