Minecraft Top Gaming Search on YouTube, Gaming Most Popular Category - News

Minecraft is by far the biggest game on YouTube, according to a report released by Google. It s the most searched term on YouTube related to gaming and overall the second most popular search term, behind only music. Overall, people spend more time watching gaming content than any other category.

The only other gaming related search to make the list is Let's Play content creator Pewdiepie. He is the seventh most popular searched term.

"Gaming content on YouTube spans a wide range: game news and reviews, instructional videos, people goofing off while playing games, and, of course, competitive gaming championships," read the report. "One exciting and fast-growing category on YouTube is competitive gaming, also referred to as eSports. As with pro sports (baseball and football, for example), it has iconic players, fans, team uniforms, playoffs, and more. Although the eSports phenomenon is garnering significant media attention and revenue, it's only part of a much larger gaming content ecosystem."

The next graphic shows the days when a gaming video hit the top 10 trending video on YouTube in October, 2014. A gaming video was in the top 10 25 out of 31 days.

good news
but i cant believe people like frozen, eminem or beyonce that much like minecraft which is an endless game. Are people so much obsessed over a 60 minute disney movie or some celebrity searching for it every day?
