There is definitely a market for the Vita.. but what do these sales mean for Sony's next-gen system in the future? Nintendo is certainly letting Sony thrive on some numbers which is good for the handheld gaming industry. They've had nothing but friendly competition in the past and it would be unhealthy to see Sony drop out of the handheld gaming market. Not a fan of the Vita myself, but Nintendo needs them where they are.
Poor Vita. It's a great handled device but I gored by Sony and the costumers. It needs more games and better marketing.
Oh Sony :-( mobile and ps vita needs to go
What is there to say to this except that with the imminent release of Monster Hunter 4 and New 3DS in Japan, and Pokémon ORAS on top of the Christmas edge that Nintendo always has, this growth of this gap is only going to accelerate over the next few months.
One should never doubt Nintendo in the handheld market - and you just hope that the handhelds keep coming as it's such a superior gaming platform to mobile.
I think you must ignore Japan to consider this gap.
The should be comparing the DS to 3DS. And the PSP to the Vita.
Why does Sony catch no flack from gamers about Vita's literally nuclear disaster performance, and yet said people just love to crap all over Wii U's sales and mock them and also love to ignore 3DS' great performance?
Because most gamers don't care about handhelds. I'll repeat, "most".
vita now is not doing well also in japan...11k for this week ,42k for 3ds 2k more than the week of smash bros and with the announcement of the new handhelds!things are even awful for vita
The sales between the two go back and forth depending on what games release that month.
Looks like my usage chart of these two, except the other way around..
I always say these cheesy things but this chart makes me all tingly inside.
heheheheh
75,000,000-80,000,000 of gap by end of gen...
I agree. Easily 80 mil gap. The 3ds still has alot of life left, and I think the new 3 ds is going to propel it's sales even further. In a crazy way, the vita is done, while the 3ds is just starting.
