Oh crap...
50,000 more one May, and in one month -700,000... Wii is back the best seller for first month, and IMHO, will be forever.
None console is able to sell 20 million first yearl.

PS4 Lead? Looks like the Wii is leading. You write good articles, but proof-read.

It is insane how strong the sales of Wii were. Will we ever see something like it again?

Looking back in the weekly charts you can see that the Wii hade 5 weeks of sales in June 2007, while ps4 hade 4 last month. That makes the drop off a little biggr than it actually is, but there was no way ps4 could match the wii's sales in the summer. Will take quiye a while before ps4 takes the lead again, if ever though Sony has proven to be a marathon runner.

Yea, looks like PS4 is also losing steam. Not that it's doing bad as it's selling way better then both XB1 and WiiU but it's demand appears to be getting met where as Wii had a demand that didn't stop for a few years.

One thing that never seems to get mentioned here is that the Wii was supply constrained during this peroid. As far as I'm aware, the PS4 is not. Kudos to Sony for being bullish with their projections and making sure they produced enough units to meet demand, but the fact remains that these numbers alone do not represent an 'apples for apples' comparison.

And thus begins the rise of the wii!

So the PS4 success is a much bigger fad than the wii one was. Love the irony.

Summer is traditionally favorable to Ninty. PS4 will take back the lead around fall

and that gap is just going to keep growing for at least the next 4-5 years. Then it will pick up and never meet by the end of the generation.

Yes and the Ps1 is still ahead of the WII. So it's amazing to sell a lot of units during the 4 first years but it's better if it lasts like the Ps1 and 2 did. The Ps4 has probably better legs than the WII.

Nah, just two years... PS4 will pick up soon as Wii deflate after the first tree years...
