@ganoncrotch. I think these numbers are not bad. If you look at games like COD, Uncharted or even God of War they are slowly growing in momentium in the Japanese market. The point is in Japan western games are an acquired taste, its going to take a bit more time, but it does look like western games are building momentium. And console ownership in Japan has declined in Japan, only 1 or 2 PS3 games have sold over 1 mil copies in the region. So relative to those established franchises, I think these numbers are reasonable.

Ganoncrotch posted 07/09/2012, 04:01
pathetic numbers in japan, they really need to learn that is is a back and forth, if they want to turn their noses up to every thing western then there shouldn't be much shock when jrpgs and heavily japanese based games die a death in the western market. Kojima can cry all he wants that western gamers only play call of duty but maybe they could bother to experience our style of gaming and make it a 2 way thing.

This version has been fixed with the 1.04 patch. I played it for over 100 hours and while I had a few glitches the games worked really well. Overall in 113 hours I had 4 freezes and brief lag maybe 20 times.

@aaronSolider As much as I wish you were right, the 360 shots look better in every instance. The shadows in those shots are clearly better on 360. I'm a PS3 fanboy too, so it pains me to say that. I much prefer playing games on my PS3. That said the shadows on PS3 are horrible. None of those shots show normal PS3 shadows, which are as low res as I've ever seen in a game on PS3. The normal shadows are atrociously jaggy, low res, and horrible looking. I still LOVE the game on PS3, but to say the shadows are better on PS3 is to have no played the game. They are awful. No doubt about it.

AngryAztec posted 30/11/2011, 07:16
No, the PS3 version is flawed because of lag issues. The game becomes unplayable the more you play it, because of the terrible framerate. The patch that Beethesda released actually makes things worse. I can't believe reviewers scored this game so high. They obviously didn't get very far into it.
Message | Report
drakesfortune posted 29/11/2011, 07:02
after playing both fallout games on 360, and now buying this for PS3, I would say the 360 version is likely better. For only one reason, the shadow quality on PS3 is horrible. That was never an issue on the 360 fallout games. So I have to believe that the PS3 version is worse for that reason alone. And when I say the shadows are inferior, I mean they are just terrible. They are the lowest res shadows I've ever seen, by a country mile. Still, the game is great on PS3. It's fun, the world sucks you in, and I'm totally into it. I wish the shadows weren't so distracting though.
