SE owns the Xenogears franchise while NB owns the Xenosaga name. Takahashi can go and work wherever he wants. The story was never completed. He scripted six games, and only was able to release three (Ep II was actually the second have of Ep I) There is a lot of story left to tell. I was just pondering who would fund him to make more games. SE won't NB won't either and Nintendo? I doubt it. Most publishers in Japan see him as a failure who uses all and more of the budgets he is given and the sales only break even. He is a talented story teller and it is a shame he was forced to stop. In USA we got all three games and I would like more. I know it will never happen, but MS is the wealthiest company on earth and could afford to fund it. I always wonder if MS was flooded with letters of gamers who would buy the games. Who knows what would happen. Intrigued?

@ Mutiverse37:

-MS wants popular franchises, this is probably too small of a franchise.
- NB owns the franchise, not the creator
- The story is finished

Beyond?? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. That's a good one. I, of course, was refering to the resources that Microsoft has. Takahashi had the door slammed shut on him by NB and Nintendo won't green light a Xenosaga project, but Microsoft has the resources to get it done, if they were motivated. The point I was making, is if he went to them, and convinced them to fund a Xeno project I think it would be pretty cool. Would you buy his games? Can you think of another company that could/would do it?

You know what is so sad about this? I bet if Tetsuya Takahashi approched Microsoft, they would have set him up with a developement team (maybe even Bioware.....just think) and funded the project just to get more sales for the 360 and we would have all benefited from that, but the though probably never even crossed Mr Takahashi's mind. Sad huh since he never even got the chance to tell his saga. I hope he hasn't completely given up.

Amazing series. Wish it wouldn't have gotten cut down to 3 games, but what can you do.

Best out of the series in my opinion. Good cutscenes, nice gamplay, and an occasional giant robot battle to change it up.
