@Kai- remember shipped isn't the same as sold ;D
Kai Master (on 04 November 2012)
EA announced 17 million shipped, 14.48m seems a bit undertracked ?
man-bear-pig (on 11 February 2012)
Good sales
dsage01 (on 06 January 2012)
7-8 million lifetime possibly. Depending on legs.
alonzodono (on 06 January 2012)
5.00m !!!
SecondWar (on 04 January 2012)
Game is starting to bug me as I'm encountering a glitch that is literally stopping me from playing. After the map pack release, when I tried to play Wake Island, the game locks on the Gulf of Oman loading screen before going black and not entering me into the match. Just tried to play now and the same thing is happening, only now its doing it when I try to play Team Deathmatch. Anyone else encountering this problem?
Mordred11 (on 30 December 2011)
How would yearly releases help Battlefield reach COD-level? It's all about the fanbase, when it comes to COD.
Statix (on 27 December 2011)
wick: How did the patch ruin the game?
VGKing (on 23 December 2011)
Already passed Bad Company 2 in sales by a lot. Impressive. It would need to have a yearly release to reach COD-level though.
Wh1pL4shL1ve_007 (on 19 December 2011)
This game is really good.
acdcste (on 17 December 2011)
Good sales although not a patch on COD. I was expecting it to be a little closer than its ended up being.
StrickBan (on 16 December 2011)
4m ? don't think so
Mr Puggsly (on 15 December 2011)
Amazing sales for an absolute pile of garbage.
wick (on 14 December 2011)
The latest patch has ruined what was once a great game.
yahoocomReborn (on 13 December 2011)
Also NPD doesn't cover Walmart sales
enrageorange (on 12 December 2011)
Dsage you always try to skew things to favor your opinion. Sony says it sold double uncharted 2 and you believe them "suprise suprise" despite them not indicating if that's shipped or sold similar to when they said sold 3.8mil day one.... EA very clearly announced they sold 8mil copies out of 12mil copies shipped and you don't... Its quite ridiculous what you say sometimes
dsage01 (on 10 December 2011)
And I'm basing it on U.S.A. sales number as well... you should look at the new VGC setup before you start talking
dsage01 (on 10 December 2011)
Pal charts also give numbers.. at least most of them.
roboticsun61 (on 08 December 2011)
plus The Europe number may be undertracked.
roboticsun61 (on 08 December 2011)
@dsage01 two facts: 1. NPD only counts USA sales number. 2. NPD's report you cited only covered October sale ended at Oct 29
enrageorange (on 07 December 2011)
Pal charts give rankings not numbers so you can't tell if numbers look right compared to them, just orders. I'll repeat myself because you are having a hard time grasping. EA said 8mil sold 12mil shipped. That means 8mil copies have sold. You can complain about certain regions being overtracked all you want but the fact is the game worldwide is undertracked.
dsage01 (on 07 December 2011)
NPD: Battlefield 3 sold under 2 million units. VGC: Battlefield 3 sold over 2.3 million units. So it's overtracked by 400k FW. Europe looks just about right though when looking at the Pal charts
enrageorange (on 01 December 2011)
DSage EA said it sold 8mil and no thats not shipped since they also said 12mil shipped. If its overtracked in america that means it is very heavily undertracked in EMEAA as in over 2mil all systems combined...
dsage01 (on 01 December 2011)
NPD isn't inaccurate. I have to say these numbers really look like BS. The Europe ones and Japan one looks fine but it looks at least 500k over tracked in U.S.A. Either VGC is in too in love with BF3 to do anything about the numbers or there are just too lazy
pezus (on 01 December 2011)
Or it sold a lot more in EMEAA...
enrageorange (on 29 November 2011)
because EA stated it sold through 8mil and shipped 12mil. It seems like either it sold a lot better week 2 and 3, digital sales were huge, or npd was inaccurate.
The_Joker_Product (on 29 November 2011)
And they adjusted it up even more.
dsage01 (on 28 November 2011)
overtracked both versions. VGC should correct this
Mr Puggsly (on 20 November 2011)
Awesome overall sales thus far. But imagine how great sales would be if it was actually fun.
Sanzee (on 17 November 2011)
I'm pretty sure these sales are correct. If anything, the PC version might be a little low. But the console versions are correct.
dsage01 (on 17 November 2011)
They couldn't have sold over 3 million copies on all 3 versions week 1
dsage01 (on 17 November 2011)
I guess they are too lazy or just love BF too much
The_Joker_Product (on 14 November 2011)
They never bother.
dsage01 (on 13 November 2011)
So when is VGc going to correct these sales?
shanbcn (on 12 November 2011)
I think the big reason was EA which clearly didnt tell the truth because there is no way BF3 sold 5 million first week. Must likely 3.5m or less.
dsage01 (on 11 November 2011)
I guessed it right. VGC did a horrible job of overtracking this game
pezus (on 11 November 2011)
Oh snap! Looks significantly overtracked (All 3 versions sold just under 2m in the US). VGChartz have BF3 at 3m FW Americas
Mordred11 (on 11 November 2011)
great 2nd week
SecondWar (on 10 November 2011)
Has anyone else noticed is Rush and Squad Rush, on the spawn screen it always says your on the attacking team regardless of whether you actually are or not? Hope DICE get around to fixing that.
dsage01 (on 09 November 2011)
Wow Great legs so far...
cars298 (on 09 November 2011)
Realy amazing game with good grafix........
SecondWar (on 08 November 2011)
Really enjoying multiplayer on this but there are still some things I wish they would update. First, Rush is weighted horribly in favour of the attacking teams, the very least DICE could do is stop their respawn tags from topping up every time they destroy both bases. Secondly, put an 'Exit Game' button is the end of round lobby. Its dead annoying having to wait for a new round to start before you can leave.
Mr Puggsly (on 07 November 2011)
@ WiiBox3 - I think WaW was the worst CoD campaign. It was the most frustrating and forgettable. The co-op multiplayer is really the only thing that saved that game.
Mr Puggsly (on 07 November 2011)
@ WiiBox3 - Well people buy these games for both the campaign and multiplayer. If you took either element out, it wouldn't be this successful. I'll admit the campaign had some cool moments that almost made it worth playing though. But Dice just can't seem to make a fun campaign. The Bad Company campaigns were boring as well.
pezus (on 07 November 2011)
@WiiBox3: I agree (that is, only if you count HL2+E1+2 as fantasy FPS games)
WiiBox3 (on 07 November 2011)
Even though MW2 had a better campaign than BF3, it was one of the weekest in the COD series. COD4 and COD BLOPs have had the best non fantasy FPS campaigns in recent years.
WiiBox3 (on 07 November 2011)
@Mr Puggsley - I can definately agree with you on BF3's campaign. It is obvious that Dice only stuck it in there because of an EA push. The campaign looks cool, but is not fun. Seems that Dice would rather work on the Multi player part of the game, which is the part most people will spend a lot of time in. Unfortunately for me, I rarely play multi player. I play multi player only if I have extra time, I mainly play games for the campaign and this is not a game to get if that is what you want to play.
pezus (on 07 November 2011)
? They made BC1, BC2 and Mirror's Edge on consoles
nilli (on 06 November 2011)
Sorry to say but Battlefield 2 was a pc exclusive. Dice was only making pc games. They don't know how to make good console games and are paying the price. Well they should learn and fast. These sales prove it that console sales dominate the market.
rexar (on 05 November 2011)
nilli- no dice fuck on crap console with no future, dice focus on PC becouse its best market !!!
nilli (on 04 November 2011)
Dice better be working for an engine for the next gen consoles because they really dropped the ball this gen. They could have reached COD sales but hey too little too late.
Mr Puggsly (on 04 November 2011)
@ nilli - No, Dice just can't make a game as fun as CoD.
rexar (on 03 November 2011)
COD will stomp everything, but not becouse they focus on console but becosue its simply most popular game right now.
nilli (on 03 November 2011)
Main reason why MW3 will outsell BF3 by the millions is the fact that dice don't know how to make console games. BF3 runs 30fps on console. That is utter shit. Also they cut the online player counts etc.... They fucked up. It could have sold so much more but they decided to go the pc way because that is what they know how to do and they paid the price. Sold less on pc than either of the consoles. COD Will STOMP this game.
Mr Puggsly (on 03 November 2011)
Half way into the campaign and its very disappointing. Terrible AI, buggy, just feels unpolished. CoD campaigns are much more fun.
rexar (on 02 November 2011)
But main reason why MW3 outsell BF3 is not focus on PC or console, but it that Call of Duty franchise is much more popular in the world, i think most popular game now, but BF3 will be second best selling game of year.
homer (on 02 November 2011)
@Rexar Actually this game only supports 24 players on consoles.
rexar (on 02 November 2011)
If you have awesome gaming rig as i have there i sno cons in PC gaming, but in console are many cons.
WiiBox3 (on 02 November 2011)
Nilli & Rexar - Grow up. You two sound like a pair of ten year olds on the playground arguing about which M&M color is better. They both have Ms on them. There are pros and cons to both PC and console gaming. Come-on. Group Hug!!!
nilli (on 02 November 2011)
rexar enjoy your game with your crappy pc when rest of the players use widescreen monitors and have more juice in their pc's. This is somethin you don't have to worry about when you play on consoles. Not to mention that you probably can't even run this buggy piece of shit on your pc. Unless you spend weeks waiting for a patch that fixes everything.
nilli (on 02 November 2011)
PC version is buggy as hell. What ever dice said this game was made on consoles terms. BUHAHAHA pc gaming is done! Sold less on pc than either of the consoles.
enrageorange (on 01 November 2011)
enjoy having to restart the game every time you want to join a new server and having the game crash on you half the time.
Iveyboi (on 01 November 2011)
@joker: PC sales are not accurate here.
The_Joker_Product (on 01 November 2011)
LOL epic fail, it didnt even sell one third of the PS3 version of the game.
green_sky (on 29 October 2011)
Played the single player and it is quite average. Looks good and that is about it.
SecondWar (on 28 October 2011)
The game is not as easy to grasp from the start as Call of Duty is, which is good in some ways but will turn a lot of people off. CoD is also easier to use, Battlefield is frustrating me in how despite setting my load outs, they appear to change depending on what map I am on. That said, they're were plenty of things in MW2 that I hated that I haven't seen in this game. I'm sticking with it, but based on first impressions I over-hyped things a bit and the game probably won't be an industry-changer like Call of Duty 4.
gorilla (on 28 October 2011)
@Nilli EA has already said that their games will cater to the PC from here on out. EA said the console is dead and there are millions of PC gamers out there thirsty for good shooters. Look at the success of steam. Brining Mac computers into the gaming fold has also opend up a lot of oppurtnity to make money for devleopers. Who wants to make a game accordign to what Sony and MS set the restrictions as. The games are designed from the ground up on a PC and then scaled down and put on consoles. So its easy for them to throw the PC crowd a game that is perfect. PS3 and Xbox 360 are not even capable of running a game of this magnitude on Ultra with 64 people. You Xbox woudl catch on fire. Consoles are 7 (2005 - 360) years old now. How long does it take for tech to get old? A month a year? Consoles are granpas now. FYI EA sells BF3 directlly to the consumer through Origin so these sales figures will not show up on VG charts. I dont have to get up and waste gass to get the game. 3 clicks and boom got it. Consoles will catch on to this soon.
Noodlefighter (on 11 October 2011)
Rofl Bad Company 2 disagrees :P
nilli (on 27 September 2011)
Dice "focusing" on pc release. 360 sales will stomp all over the pc sales. Way to go dice! check your priorities and learn how to make games for the consoles where people actually buy games.
yo_john117 (on 24 September 2011)
Let it happen!!!
Blood_Tears (on 29 August 2011)
@bullza90 They shouldn't let 12 year olds play online.
bullza90 (on 29 August 2011)
And nobody gave a fuck.
