Game is starting to bug me as I'm encountering a glitch that is literally stopping me from playing. After the map pack release, when I tried to play Wake Island, the game locks on the Gulf of Oman loading screen before going black and not entering me into the match. Just tried to play now and the same thing is happening, only now its doing it when I try to play Team Deathmatch. Anyone else encountering this problem?

How would yearly releases help Battlefield reach COD-level? It's all about the fanbase, when it comes to COD.

Already passed Bad Company 2 in sales by a lot. Impressive. It would need to have a yearly release to reach COD-level though.

Dsage you always try to skew things to favor your opinion. Sony says it sold double uncharted 2 and you believe them "suprise suprise" despite them not indicating if that's shipped or sold similar to when they said sold 3.8mil day one.... EA very clearly announced they sold 8mil copies out of 12mil copies shipped and you don't... Its quite ridiculous what you say sometimes

dsage01 posted 10/12/2011, 10:35
And I'm basing it on U.S.A. sales number as well... you should look at the new VGC setup before you start talking

Message | Report
roboticsun61 posted 08/12/2011, 06:31
@dsage01 two facts: 1. NPD only counts USA sales number. 2. NPD's report you cited only covered October sale ended at Oct 29
Message | Report
enrageorange posted 08/12/2011, 12:30
Pal charts give rankings not numbers so you can't tell if numbers look right compared to them, just orders. I'll repeat myself because you are having a hard time grasping. EA said 8mil sold 12mil shipped. That means 8mil copies have sold. You can complain about certain regions being overtracked all you want but the fact is the game worldwide is undertracked.
Message | Report
dsage01 posted 08/12/2011, 12:15
NPD: Battlefield 3 sold under 2 million units. VGC: Battlefield 3 sold over 2.3 million units. So it's overtracked by 400k FW. Europe looks just about right though when looking at the Pal charts
Message | Report
enrageorange posted 02/12/2011, 01:43
DSage EA said it sold 8mil and no thats not shipped since they also said 12mil shipped. If its overtracked in america that means it is very heavily undertracked in EMEAA as in over 2mil all systems combined...
Message | Report
dsage01 posted 01/12/2011, 09:57
NPD isn't inaccurate. I have to say these numbers really look like BS. The Europe ones and Japan one looks fine but it looks at least 500k over tracked in U.S.A. Either VGC is in too in love with BF3 to do anything about the numbers or there are just too lazy
Message | Report
enrageorange posted 30/11/2011, 03:38
because EA stated it sold through 8mil and shipped 12mil. It seems like either it sold a lot better week 2 and 3, digital sales were huge, or npd was inaccurate.

Really enjoying multiplayer on this but there are still some things I wish they would update. First, Rush is weighted horribly in favour of the attacking teams, the very least DICE could do is stop their respawn tags from topping up every time they destroy both bases. Secondly, put an 'Exit Game' button is the end of round lobby. Its dead annoying having to wait for a new round to start before you can leave.

@ WiiBox3 - I think WaW was the worst CoD campaign. It was the most frustrating and forgettable. The co-op multiplayer is really the only thing that saved that game.
Message | Report
Mr Puggsly posted 08/11/2011, 03:53
@ WiiBox3 - Well people buy these games for both the campaign and multiplayer. If you took either element out, it wouldn't be this successful. I'll admit the campaign had some cool moments that almost made it worth playing though. But Dice just can't seem to make a fun campaign. The Bad Company campaigns were boring as well.

WiiBox3 posted 07/11/2011, 10:20
Even though MW2 had a better campaign than BF3, it was one of the weekest in the COD series. COD4 and COD BLOPs have had the best non fantasy FPS campaigns in recent years.

WiiBox3 posted 07/11/2011, 10:17
@Mr Puggsley - I can definately agree with you on BF3's campaign. It is obvious that Dice only stuck it in there because of an EA push. The campaign looks cool, but is not fun. Seems that Dice would rather work on the Multi player part of the game, which is the part most people will spend a lot of time in. Unfortunately for me, I rarely play multi player. I play multi player only if I have extra time, I mainly play games for the campaign and this is not a game to get if that is what you want to play.

Sorry to say but Battlefield 2 was a pc exclusive. Dice was only making pc games. They don't know how to make good console games and are paying the price. Well they should learn and fast. These sales prove it that console sales dominate the market.

COD will stomp everything, but not becouse they focus on console but becosue its simply most popular game right now.

nilli posted 03/11/2011, 07:15
Main reason why MW3 will outsell BF3 by the millions is the fact that dice don't know how to make console games. BF3 runs 30fps on console. That is utter shit. Also they cut the online player counts etc.... They fucked up. It could have sold so much more but they decided to go the pc way because that is what they know how to do and they paid the price. Sold less on pc than either of the consoles. COD Will STOMP this game.

Half way into the campaign and its very disappointing. Terrible AI, buggy, just feels unpolished. CoD campaigns are much more fun.

But main reason why MW3 outsell BF3 is not focus on PC or console, but it that Call of Duty franchise is much more popular in the world, i think most popular game now, but BF3 will be second best selling game of year.

rexar enjoy your game with your crappy pc when rest of the players use widescreen monitors and have more juice in their pc's. This is somethin you don't have to worry about when you play on consoles. Not to mention that you probably can't even run this buggy piece of shit on your pc. Unless you spend weeks waiting for a patch that fixes everything.

The game is not as easy to grasp from the start as Call of Duty is, which is good in some ways but will turn a lot of people off. CoD is also easier to use, Battlefield is frustrating me in how despite setting my load outs, they appear to change depending on what map I am on. That said, they're were plenty of things in MW2 that I hated that I haven't seen in this game. I'm sticking with it, but based on first impressions I over-hyped things a bit and the game probably won't be an industry-changer like Call of Duty 4.

@Nilli EA has already said that their games will cater to the PC from here on out. EA said the console is dead and there are millions of PC gamers out there thirsty for good shooters. Look at the success of steam. Brining Mac computers into the gaming fold has also opend up a lot of oppurtnity to make money for devleopers. Who wants to make a game accordign to what Sony and MS set the restrictions as. The games are designed from the ground up on a PC and then scaled down and put on consoles. So its easy for them to throw the PC crowd a game that is perfect. PS3 and Xbox 360 are not even capable of running a game of this magnitude on Ultra with 64 people. You Xbox woudl catch on fire. Consoles are 7 (2005 - 360) years old now. How long does it take for tech to get old? A month a year? Consoles are granpas now. FYI EA sells BF3 directlly to the consumer through Origin so these sales figures will not show up on VG charts. I dont have to get up and waste gass to get the game. 3 clicks and boom got it. Consoles will catch on to this soon.
