atma998 (on 01 June 2013)
Finally reached 7 million!
Kai Master (on 12 January 2012)
Still in the top 40 in US this week and there's already JD2 and JD3 on sale ?
dgeci (on 10 January 2012)
just dance 2
dgeci (on 10 January 2012)
just dance 2
atma998 (on 02 January 2012)
6.41M! Best selling third party new franchise of this gen!
Toddifer (on 27 December 2011)
Actually I think most of the western songs on the Just Dance Wii game in Japan come from Just Dance 2...
Kai Master (on 16 December 2011)
oops, just dance wii in japan is just dance 3 not 1...
Kai Master (on 19 November 2011)
+0.21 from Japa version listed under "Just Dance Wi" and not on this game page (thus "N/A")i
NiKKoM (on 29 October 2011)
jeeeh! 6 million!
oniyide (on 26 August 2011)
buy Wii owners! fund the Assassin's Creed series! everyone wins!
spurgeonryan (on 02 July 2011)
Whatever! It will still break 6 million.
primogen18 (on 02 May 2011)
This isn't my cup of tea but I am mature enough to understand for many this game is a quality fun experience.
primogen18 (on 02 May 2011)
Wow, so everything YOU don't enjoy is automatically shitty? Millions of people enjoy dance games so grow up and stop acting like some kid on a playground bitching about what toys the other kids play with.
Mr Puggsly (on 19 March 2011)
@ girsoz - Well is it really a game or an excuse to dance and listen to popular songs? People aren't buying this because its a genuinely good game.
-girgosz- (on 12 March 2011)
Why the hell Wii owners buy shitty games? This game is 49 on metacritc for christ sakes.
dastewart (on 10 January 2011)
Gearbox (on 06 January 2011)
@nintendogamer - really? 1 game that isnt made by nintendo that sells well doesnt really say much YET, but there is still hope. However, people just mean look at the top 10 games all made by nintnedo aside for number 10 which was agame they were originally making but decided to let sega publish it (smart move cause now thats a 3rd party title all the sudden)
spurgeonryan (on 04 January 2011)
actually that isnt being said anymore. Lol some how nintendo solved the problem for the time being!
Nintendogamer (on 01 January 2011)
5M for a 3rd party title on Wii, and peopel say 3rd party don't sell on wii.
NiKKoM (on 30 December 2010)
So close at 5 million.. >_
primogen18 (on 28 December 2010)
this game still has some crazy legs.. especially with the improved sequel with DLC is out and for the exact same price...
Metallicube (on 25 December 2010)
This game is a perfect example of how word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising.
TWRoO (on 23 December 2010)
I came here to marvel at the difference in 1st week and current sales totals.
nomad316 (on 17 December 2010)
just dance 2 just came out and its almost at half the sales as part 1 .wow!!!!!!
atma998 (on 06 December 2010)
This game is now sure to reach the 5 million mark!
Salnax (on 30 November 2010)
For some reason, I can't help but respect this game. Not every game can go from an opening week of under 25,000 and still become one of the best selling 3rd party games this gen.
hallowedbeeddie (on 26 November 2010)
simply amazing legs for a game that came out of nowhere. like Faxanadu said even with part 2 it is still in the top 30
Faxanadu (on 15 November 2010)
Even after release of part 2, still going strong...
Fededx (on 30 October 2010)
4.21 and still selling... It will surpass Metal Gear Solid 4 in a few months... LOL
atma998 (on 29 May 2010)
Jeez another 86k, this game won't stop selling!
-PaNdOrA- (on 29 May 2010)
After playing it for a few hours, this game isn't as bad as I thought it would be. It's actually fun!
FMF (on 23 May 2010)
Perfect example of the point-of-view that the wii is only good for party games and established franchises e.g. Nintendo games. @marcianito @primogen18 fixed typo "i.e." --> "e.g."
RageBot (on 22 May 2010)
If anything, it proves the opposite, that only "casual" titles sell well on the Wii.
primogen18 (on 21 May 2010)
I didn't know call of duty was a nintendo made party game either...
marcianito (on 19 May 2010)
i didn't know Monster hunter tri was a party game or from nintendo
RDBRaptor (on 15 May 2010)
I'm really wondering how this game is standing out so much to people, I just don't see it.
andremop (on 14 May 2010)
Actually, Nintendo must really love this game! I believe it's a great argument for them when talking that third party games DO sell on wii.
Beuli2 (on 05 May 2010)
Nintendo must be sorry for not making "Wii Dance".
famousringo (on 04 May 2010)
Let's compare it to another well-marketed, budget hit on the Wii:
It's selling three times as fast.
Smeags (on 01 May 2010)
And now it's above God of War III. X_x Kratos may be a God-killer, but no one can stand up to rainbow colored silhouettes. :-D
marcianito (on 30 April 2010)
this game gonna sell at least 5 million unless they release a sequel
Pierreism (on 24 April 2010)
Still selling 150K in a week? Jesus, this things unstoppable.
alexf10 (on 23 April 2010)
so this game still sells like hot cakes...
what do you guys think will be ltd for it? my guess is ~4 mio is possible
hellraider (on 19 April 2010)
Monster Hunter 3 will sell better!
masterjedi (on 18 April 2010)
Sooo, I thought it was common knowledge that 3rd party games don't sell on the Wii...
Grimes (on 14 April 2010)
Why isn't this game being sold in Japan?
atma998 (on 13 April 2010)
Another 150k+ week in the bag.
--OkeyDokey-- (on 12 April 2010)
I bet Nintendo are kicking themselves for not thinking of Wii Dance :P
jeffrey9999 (on 10 April 2010)
redsteel2 was 89k 1st 2 weeks this is 76k 1st 2weeks...........
Kai Master (on 10 April 2010)
sales pattern is amazing, more the weeks, more the sales, this week at number one in Europe ahead of the Nintendo triad! wow!
jeffrey9999 (on 08 April 2010)
"cody6695" actually the 1st few weeks were real bad then it took off probably on its way to 3million possibly even 5million...........
Smeags (on 07 April 2010)
This week (19) marks Others most successful week thus far. Simply crazy!
Roma (on 06 April 2010)
lol this is crazy!
-PaNdOrA- (on 06 April 2010)
Ostro (on 06 April 2010)
This game kind of shows that it's still possible to make a hit that spreads everywhere just because it is fun. Week 1 and 2 look ridiculous ^^
cody6695 (on 04 April 2010)
first week sales were bad.
Who thought it would ever pass 2m
atma998 (on 02 April 2010)
And we can assume the game will eventually reached 3 million and nobody saw that coming.
Ghazi4 (on 31 March 2010)
@kai master they said over 2 million soo please...
Kai Master (on 31 March 2010)
Ubisoft just announced 2M WW, VGC says 2.31M, the game is over-tracked?
rubido (on 28 March 2010)
Got it. Great game!!
Pierreism (on 28 March 2010)
I hope this sells a million every year till you naysayers "get it". This is a great game.
Nintendogamer (on 28 March 2010)
This game might actually be peic it's jsut that critic don't like casual gamers :(.
Shadowfest3 (on 25 March 2010)
Holy Crap! Over 2 million! I never expected these numbers!
Cheebee (on 24 March 2010)
Dancing all the way to 5 million baby!
Echolocating (on 23 March 2010)
I bought this game awhile back and thought I had thrown my money out the window when I first loaded it up. I now realize how incredibly accessible this game is and how much fun it can be if you just let yourself go.
My suggestion for Just Dance 2 is the routine from Napoleon Dynamite. Seriously.
gvangoeverden (on 22 March 2010)
2.11 million!!!!!!!! this is everything that is wrong with gaming today.
Vas-y (on 22 March 2010)
Ubisoft next reports will definitely have black numbers.
intro94 (on 22 March 2010)
this game destroyed the third party nintendo myth .
primogen18 (on 21 March 2010)
wtf I checked this not that long ago and it had just made 1.5m, now its at 2, damn. I just heard today from some co-workers this game actually can be pretty fun...
Polarimetric (on 19 March 2010)
The sales of this game are absolutely supernatural.
This is selling at the pace of a 5+ million seller. If it can stay in the top 10 for another few months, it will reach and blast past 5 million. This is selling 140,000 copies a week 4 months after release -- that's virtually unheard of except for first-party Nintendo games.
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 19 March 2010)
a nice game, i wish they make a Just Dance 2, and put more songs
Buzzi (on 19 March 2010)
5 million seller confirmed?
llyod85 (on 19 March 2010)
I know! Just Dance without gaga? wtf. That should happen. Is Just Dance 2 in the works? ps. love the profile pic
solracbrit (on 17 March 2010)
I'll buy just dance 2 if it has all my favorite gaga tunes like bad romance, telephone, poker face, and the obvious one, just dance.
llyod85 (on 13 March 2010)
I'm hoping that by some stroke of luck there will be dlc for this game. An "Expert" mode would be nice. And maybe some Gaga updates.
johnlucas (on 12 March 2010)
There's GOT to be something legit about this game. I might have to check it out. Just to see what all the fuss is about. Ubisoft put the work in. I'm pleasantly surprised.
famousringo (on 11 March 2010)
15th week out and it's outselling every Wii game except Wii Sports in EU.
Snobs can look down their noses at this game all they like, but you do not get sales like these without doing something right. And by 'something,' I mean 'almost everything.'
Pierreism (on 09 March 2010)
One thing I've noticed is how nuanced the detection system really is. It actually senses where your Wiimote is pointing when you perform the moves, so it won't give you points if the dancer is holding her arm down yet you're pointing the Wiimote upwards.
Seems alot more technical than I first expected (waggle-fest).
rubido (on 09 March 2010)
I also like the fact that there is no unlocking involved. I hate when I buy a multiplayer game like this one that I just want to play with friends and it asks me to play a lot by myself to unlock the game. I HATE unlocking in multiplayer games.
rubido (on 09 March 2010)
I recently got this game. Very good. Very good indeed. Girlfriend loves it!
Pierreism (on 06 March 2010)
Guess what every mother is getting for Mother's Day (UK)! THE BEST GAME EVER.
*Sound Of Rain (on 05 March 2010)
The 1st time I tried this game I thought that it probably was the worst music type of game in history but then I tried it again and I was like its still stupid but somehow amusing...???
huaxiong90 (on 05 March 2010)
Decry the sales as much as you like, it's selling for a reason.
Ghutto (on 04 March 2010)
This game is fun! And nothing can be more healthy for humanity than to have fun and be happy.
Product (on 04 March 2010)
This is actually a well made game. It is not shovelware. I would rather see this type of game get big then a Petz game.
Smeags (on 03 March 2010)
Oh no! People are buying a game that I don't approve of! *rolls eyes*
Siko1989 (on 03 March 2010)
as a Nintendo fan only im fucking embarrassed the fact that people brought this game over NMH2 or Tatsonoku vs capcom... how awesome more shovelware as usual >.>
aoixgp (on 01 March 2010)
Good game..apparently my local retailer found out and is now grossly over charging for it.
marcianito (on 27 February 2010)
4.5 on amazon, people seem to love it
Cheebee (on 27 February 2010)
Lol @ all the angry HD gamers venting their rage. :-P
fwap (on 26 February 2010)
Butt-hurt ps3 gamers make these sales even more delicious.
Metallicube (on 26 February 2010)
I guess this is the Carnival Games of 2010...
torchmoney1 (on 23 February 2010)
see this is why ubisoft is the biggest third party on the wii and keep putting games out there all they games i think sold over a 100.000 copies on the wii they play hard on the wii
spurgeonryan (on 23 February 2010)
nothing on the wii sells in japan, and nothing good sells in america on the wii. so it is lost. If they dont get with the graphics and third parties next gen (finally) then the wii 2 will be lost
Cheebee (on 23 February 2010)
One and a half million sold in 3 months? Wow. They should bring it to Japan, I'm sure it'd sell tons, there, too. :-D
Showertea (on 23 February 2010)
I have never seen a single advertisement for Just Dance in any form. I don't think the success of this game has anything to do with ads.
solidpumar (on 17 February 2010)
This game could be a system seller for Natal...
It would work perfectly for MS tech...
DarkLantis (on 15 February 2010)
this game is sooo fun! played it drunk all night long :D and the motion controls are ok, you really have to dance to score some points! hahahaha
kevinrize (on 12 February 2010)
this is what advertising can do but why cant ubisoft advertise other games.
i woulg give this game an 8/10 such fun
Soma (on 12 February 2010)
Are motion controls well done on this game? Does it detect if you made the bad move? Or just waving your arms do the trick?
Paperdiego (on 12 February 2010)
youtube vids of people playing this game...it will make your day.
i guarantee it
Salnax (on 10 February 2010)
There is a moral to this game. If there is a large niche that has not been filled, even a mediocre game can fill the void.
largedarryl (on 09 February 2010)
Now that is an interesting sales trend. Word of mouth sales or something?
SaviorX (on 08 February 2010)
Just saw a commercial for this game, months after its release. This kinda pisses me off because other Ubisoft Wii games haven't gotten anything.
Rainbow Yoshi (on 07 February 2010)
Boutros (on 07 February 2010)
Oh. My. Gosh
Red4ADevil (on 04 February 2010)
Never played the game (and dont plan to)but i hope they succeed and dont milk it.
famousringo (on 04 February 2010)
I think that depends a lot on your values. This game is more social, since you don't have to share a dance pad. It's cheaper, because you don't need to buy a dance pad. It has less emphasis on scores and precision, so if you live for those full combos, this isn't the game for you.
pokeclaudel (on 03 February 2010)
Is this game better than DDR HP?
Skorpion (on 02 February 2010)
Will wait for the inevitable sequel with more music. Seems like it could be fun.
Blacksaber (on 01 February 2010)
This game defis logic the way Nintendo games do..
huaxiong90 (on 01 February 2010)
Ubisoft sure has cracked the Wii market.
marcianito (on 31 January 2010)
it's becoming a hit
Ghutto (on 30 January 2010)
This game is too fun!
st_muscat0 (on 30 January 2010)
@Metallicube what's everyone's fascination with this game?
Metallicube (on 29 January 2010)
What is Europe's fascination with this game? 0_o
LusoBoy (on 29 January 2010)
This game is terrible. Looked so nice but the controls are really bad :S.
Pierreism (on 29 January 2010)
Eurogamer have a positive (7/10) review that I think nails what makes it fun: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/just-dance-review?page=2
Coupled with the UK's propensity for the musical/cheesy/naff (Mamma Mia anyone?), it makes perfect sense to me why this is a hit.
famousringo (on 28 January 2010)
Oh God, now it's trending upward in NA, too. It's going viral.
Salnax (on 25 January 2010)
Konami's been making DDR games for a while now. About time somebody else stepped up to the plate.
LinKing12 (on 25 January 2010)
As a game that appeals to a wide variety of people, it's a hit. It's fun, it's simple, and that is what a lot of people apparently want. Haven't you gotten it by now that Nintendo is trying to appeal to a wider audience than just serious gamers?
Just Dance is great, and a whole lot of fun when people come over for a party. If you don't like dancing or you don't like having fun, don't play it.
Another thing: for some reason, all the critic reviews are exceptionally low (like 2-4/10), but if you look at the customer reviews (check out amazon) for the game, they are all 5 stars. Just proving my point :)
dark_gh0st_b0y (on 24 January 2010)
is it really a dance game?
maybe i end up buying this as well O.0
Demotruk (on 23 January 2010)
Wait, should it be judged by something other than fun..?
If it's fun, if people are satisfied by it, then how is it "fundamentally terrible"?
ash3336 (on 23 January 2010)
Ubisoft advertises on the TV for this but not No More Heroes 2 and probably wont for Red Steel 2. Then whine on how the Wii market is not good for hardcore.
ash3336 (on 23 January 2010)
This shows that with the correct advertisement, even crap can sell. If good games on the Wii such as MadWorld, and No More Heroes 2, TvC and Conduit are/were properly advertised, Wii market would be substantially different.
--OkeyDokey-- (on 23 January 2010)
Bahaha. I played this game tonight. It's the equivelant of putting a CD on and waving your arms around with a Wii remote in hand.
It's fun. I can see why it's successful. But as a game, it's fundamentally terrible.
Buzzi (on 23 January 2010)
This reminds me at tomodachi collection...
BladeOfGod (on 23 January 2010)
yup, these kind if 3rd party games SELL in the wii
Polarimetric (on 22 January 2010)
"Rabbids Just Dance With Babiez"? LMFAO! I'd buy that on day one!
c0rd (on 22 January 2010)
People criticize the game's quality, but it does all it needs to for a dance game (it's almost like a port of an arcade hit). Read IGN's review, it's amusing (they gave it a 2.0) - everything they hate about it is every reason why it succeeds.
The game is accessible as they come, and it does away with failing songs and unlockables. It's got its own unique, appealing style. Some of these are things GH/RB or even Nintendo can learn from.
It is low on tracks / content, but I guess that's why it's budget priced. I doubt the game will stop selling any time soon, it really has no competition. Whether it was from pure luck or genius, Ubisoft has a big hit on their hands.
Cheebee (on 22 January 2010)
I'm waiting for a 'Rabbids Just Dance With Babiez'-announcement...
Gintoki (on 22 January 2010)
Sells are awesome
Gamerace (on 22 January 2010)
Girl power. About 50% of Wii owners are female and this game is obviously appealing to that market. Shame it isn't a better overall game though. Ubisoft could have had a mega-hit.
Pierreism (on 22 January 2010)
Haha. Wow. It's even still selling out at many GAME stores here in the UK even though there hasn't been any ads for it in months.
Fededx (on 22 January 2010)
Well, I guess we are gonna have Just Dance 2 for sure, and maybe no Red Steel 3, Rabbids go home 2 or No More Heroes 3... I hate when this games outsell really good games!
marcianito (on 21 January 2010)
i see this hitting 3 millions
J.U.N.O (on 21 January 2010)
This made a million and No More Heroes 2 will probably not pass the million mark. : (
BigGumby (on 21 January 2010)
what the heck...
ioi (on 21 January 2010)
Growing word of mouth within the casual market - this could do 4-5m easily...
SaviorX (on 21 January 2010)
Damn, 1 million!
What a hit.
famousringo (on 21 January 2010)
I don't understand how this game's biggest week in EU has come well after the holidays are done. Big retailer specials?
kopstudent89 (on 21 January 2010)
1 million!! This may end up as a smash hit
Smeags (on 21 January 2010)
How did this game receive those kinds of sales this week? Mind boggling...
bmmb1 (on 21 January 2010)
From what I read it had a good advertising campaign in the UK. Also, I just went and read the latest Amazon user reviews, and it looks like most people actually think the game is... fun! Which is what lots of Wii users are looking for in the end.
Smeags (on 20 January 2010)
People just want to dance! :-D
solracbrit (on 20 January 2010)
I read somewhere that this game had an advertisment during the time frame of x-factor... that may explain the crazy sales in te UK.
huaxiong90 (on 19 January 2010)
Not bad. Ubisoft are on to something.
--OkeyDokey-- (on 19 January 2010)
It's a game about dancing to pop music titled Just Dance and it doesn't even have the Lady Gaga song of the same name.
Epic fail? :P
c0rd (on 18 January 2010)
It reached the top of the UK charts, though not all of Europe. I wonder what's responsible for the crazy sales in the UK.
Anyway, game was adjusted up about 150k in Americas.
Gearbox (on 18 January 2010)
didnt it take the top honors this coming week in europe? meanign a sales increase of like 40k
Monteblanco (on 17 January 2010)
It seems that Ubisoft can make some money with the Wii after all. Perhaps they should study how they got the marketing campaign right in this one.
alexf10 (on 16 January 2010)
this game is undertracked in the us. it was 20th in dezember and sold and sold something like 350k-400k in dezember alone...
mrstickball (on 11 January 2010)
Good sales for a game that had a great marketing campaign.
One of the few Wii games' ads I've actually looked in to.
Cheebee (on 10 January 2010)
Lol, I never heard about this game until today, actually. :-P Seems like the type of game a LOT of people will like.
haxxiy (on 10 January 2010)
Dude, what the hell?
llewdebkram (on 09 January 2010)
Ubisoft must be dead chuffed by these sales.
atma998 (on 04 January 2010)
This game will definitely reach a million.
Pierreism (on 01 January 2010)
I have to say the ad campaigning here in the UK has been completely effective. My mum has never wanted any game as much as this. Their YouTube channel pretty much sealed the deal for her.
And y'know what? The game's not that bad. It's definitely dependent on the type of person playing. The more they put in, the more they get out. It's like a communal dance/exercise tape and that's no bad thing, so good for Ubisoft.
Oh and the £18 price point is just right and probable the driving factor in sales.
Polarimetric (on 30 December 2009)
I glanced at this game a while ago and it looked pretty bad... but those are some really good Others sales. I just don't know.
teknohick (on 24 December 2009)
i cant believe this is catching on, my cousin picked it up and it was kinda fun for a group thing
ubi is also planning a larger viral ad campaign after new years featuring people playing the game, some of the new ads are posted on the justdance youtube channel. the ad's aren't bad, i can see this having some good legs.
Vas-y (on 23 December 2009)
Ubisoft will have a pretty nice Christmas with big sales incoming from this game.
Red4ADevil (on 19 December 2009)
It must be the commercial despite not getting good reviews (who the hell cares anyway) Thats how you advertise a game.
kopstudent89 (on 18 December 2009)
dang, and here ubisoft were complainin :P
MontanaHatchet (on 17 December 2009)
Where did this come from? Like...seriously.
nathlio (on 17 December 2009)
Been doubling every week! Crazy!
Boutros (on 17 December 2009)
Won't say anything...don't want to get banned.
palancas7 (on 17 December 2009)
spurgeonryan (on 13 December 2009)
must be a europe thing?
palancas7 (on 08 December 2009)
Sold out at amazon.co.uk already. O_O
