Limbo Reaches 1 Million Sold, Coming to Mac
by William D'Angelo, posted on 10 November 2011 / 1,044 ViewsLIMBO, the puzzle platforming adventure, has reached one million sold worldwide according to developer Playdead. The game originally launched as an Xbox Live Arcade game as part of the Xbox Live's Summer of Arcade back in July 2010. It had sold 580,000 units by the end of 2010 and was ported to PSN and Steam this summer. The game has been played in 153 countries and in nine different languages.
Playdead also announced that the game is also coming to to the Mac and "will be released before the end of the year". Dino Patti, CEO and co-founder of PlayDead said the Mac version will be released for the Mac App Store, as well as support for SteamPlay.
Patti continued that the milestone has helped Playdead to become independent by "fully acquiring the company from early investors. We are grateful to everyone who supported us over the past few years, and look forward to forging new partnerships that will both let us reach new heights as a studio and give our director, Arnt Jensen, room to grow creatively."
