Overview
There are no games in their final week before launch this week in the top 20. The top five games include Gears of War 3 (X360), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360), Battlefield 3 (X360), Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3), and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii). The top 10 games have 100,000 or more pre-orders, up from seven last week. Two games add 50,000 or more pre-orders, seven add 20,000 or more and 13 add 10,000 or more pre-orders.
Games in final week before launch
There are no games in their final week before launch this week in the top 20. However as an extra to non-pro members here are a couple of games outside the top 20.
Sniper: Ghost Warrior (PS3) is at number 30 as it adds 6,000 pre-orders in its final week. The game reached a grand total of 37,000 pre-orders. Expect first week sales in the Americas to be in the 50,000 to 75,000 unit range.
Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D (3DS) is at number 44 as it adds 5,000 pre-orders. The game is at a final total of 24,000 pre-orders. Expect first week sales in the Americas to be in the 35,000 to 50,000 unit range.
Other Hot Games
Gears of War 3 (X360) is at the top as it reaches one million pre-orders in the Americas. The game is still 13 weeks away from launch, on September 20 in America and EMEAA and September 22 in Japan. The game adds 84,000 pre-orders up from 44,000 the previous week. The game currently sits at 1.00 million pre-orders. Likewise Halo: Reach (X360) didn’t pass 1 million pre-orders until it was five weeks away from launch.
Battlefield 3 (X360) jumps up two spots to number three as it adds 34,000 pre-orders, up from 33,000 last week, for a total of 185,000. The PlayStation 3 version jumps into the top 10 as it adds 15,000 pre-orders, up from 11,000 last week, for a total of 104,000. The game is 18 weeks away from launch, October 25 in America and October 28 in EMEAA.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (X360) is the second most pre-ordered game, as it adds more pre-orders than any other game this week. The game adds 84,000 pre-orders, up from 80,000 pre-orders the previous week. The game currently has 389,000 pre-orders and is 20 weeks away from launch, November 8 in both America and EMEAA. Call of Duty: Black Ops (X360) the game with the biggest opening in gaming history, didn’t reach the same number of pre-orders until it was 12 weeks away from launch.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (PS3) is down one spot to number four as it adds 24,000 pre-orders this week, up from 23,000 last week. The game is currently at 179,000 pre-orders and will launch in 20 weeks, November 8 in both America and EMEAA. Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3) the game with the biggest opening for the PlayStation 3, didn’t have the same number of pre-orders until it was 13 weeks away from launch.
Also in the top 10: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii) is up one spot to number five and adds 5,000 pre-orders, up from 4,000 last week. The game currently sits at 130,000 pre-orders and currently has no release date in America.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (X360) is up two spots to number six as it adds 22,000 pre-orders, up from 16,000 last week, for a total of 127,000. The game is 20 weeks away from launch, November 11 in both America and EMEAA.
Mass Effect 3 (X360) is up two spots to number seven as it adds 22,000 pre-orders, down from 25,000 last week, for a total of 125,000. The game is 37 weeks away from launch, March 6, 2012 in America and March 9, 2012 in EMEAA.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (X360) is down one spot to number eight as it adds 5,000 pre-orders, down from 6,000 last week, for a total of 117,000. The game currently has no release date in America.
Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (X360) jumps into the top 10 at number nine, as it adds 36,000 pre-orders for a total of 104,000. The game is 21 weeks away from launch, November 15 in America and EMEAA.
Notable mentions outside the top 10: Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception (PS3) adds 14,000 pre-orders for a total of 99,000. Both versions of Madden NFL 12 add 16,000 pre-orders and are both at a total 97,000.
As an extra to non-pro members here are a few games outside the top 20: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (PC) adds 2,000 pre-orders for a total of 50,000. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (PS3) adds 13,000 pre-orders for a total of 40,000. Twisted Metal (PS3) adds 3,000 pre-orders for a total of 33,000. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (X360) adds 13,000 pre-orders for a total of 31,000.
