Whether you wanted to experience a more cinematic approach to game design or a more artistic one, the action/adventure genre had you covered in 2016. Naughty Dog released yet another strong entry to the Uncharted series with Uncharted 4, while their colleagues over at Sony Japan Studios finally unleashed The Last Guardian to patient fans. Nintendo’s Paper Mario: Color Splash was yet another strong title for the series while Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2 gave fans a sequel to a highly regarded new IP.

Do The Last Guardian and Colour Splash really count as action/adventure? I mean, I get the adventure part, but TLG is more of a Puzzle/Adventure and and Colour Splash more of a RPG/Adventure.
