Call of Duty: Black Ops III Won't Have Single Player on Xbox 360 and PS3

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Won't Have Single Player on Xbox 360 and PS3 - News

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will not feature a single player campaign on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, Activision has announced. These versions will only feature multiplayer and zombies modes.

"The Black Ops III PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign. The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware," read a statement from Activision

Call of Duty: Black Ops III for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be priced at $49.99 and will include a download code for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops.

That was designed for PS3. Not 8th gen specs.

what exactly are they doing in a 1-4 player campaign co-op that couldn't be done on gen7 with the campaign graphics set to suit each console

I'm sure they could have scaled it back to work on 7th gen. Perhaps scaling back the assets to 7th gen is just more work than its worth at this point. Last gen CoD sales are on the decline. Anyhow, a large number of users don't touch the campaigns so this is better than nothing for last gen users.

Lol you mean it's an on-line only game ?

If I can recall, World at War can support up to 4-players in the campaign, and that was in 2008, so what excuse can Activision make up to remove the campaign entirely?!

Only $10 off? That's a rip. It will still sell well I guess, but not CoD well.

$10 off and a copy of an old game is better than nothing but still not enough. Cod games, especially the black ops ones are known for having an atleast ok campaign.

Wow what ripp off, this also means the game will be crossgen forever, its so easy to make a multiplayer map for last gen.

Im thinking they attempted to port the campaign but gave up. For 50 bucks BO 1 and 2 should be bundled. Multiplayer is better than nothing for last gen users.

Good. We need more people to keep moving on to 8th ten consoles, so all developers and publishers can focus 100% on them. 7th gen was great, but we're coming up on it's 10th anniversary in a couple months. It's severely outdated now.

True. There are even forcing them to upgrade if you are a COD fan.
