This may be my favorite award every year. While they are only now getting grammy recognition, video games have been among the best sources for original music for more than a decade. 2013 did not disappoint, with a variety of original scores varying wildly in style. To be clear, this award only includes games with original music, not those whose soundtracks are composed of licensed music (like most racing games). Here are our favorite original soundtracks of 2013.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
While it certainly faced tough competition, A Link Between Worlds won out with a stunningly original soundtrack (my personal favorite is the haunting and epic Lorule Castle theme). In addition to a plethora of brand new songs, A Link Between Worlds includes new, modernized versions of some of the greatest hits from A Link to the Past. In the Milk Bar in Kakariko you can also listen to acoustic versions of all-time Zelda favorites from the extensive history of the franchise, played on a piccolo and guitar. A Link Between Worlds has our favorite original score for 2013.
