Google Says Amazon is Biggest Rival, Not Microsoft - News

"Many people think our main competition is Bing or Yahoo," said Schmidt. "But, really, our biggest search competitor is Amazon. People don't think of Amazon as search, but if you are looking for something to buy, you are more often than not looking for it on Amazon."
Google has been building up its e-commerce services. It partnered with retailers to offer same-day delivery services, called Google Express. It is available in San Francisco, Washington D.C., Boston, and Chicago.

Lol because they bought Twitch suddenly they threaten Google.
That's a very good point. If I'm looking up a product, I usually start with Amazon. That hurts Google in terms of advertisement potential, which I'm sure clients will recognize. You've got people actually wanting to buy a product who are going elsewhere to search. That's a lot more meaningful than someone looking up "the fappening" on Bing.
Yeahh Google... keep thinking like that...
i think google is right, it's fair to put Amazon as the main rival since both Yahoo and bing can't even be compared to google on "normal search".
Well, yeah, they should keep thinking like that. Because they are correct.
I use Google Shopping when I am looking for novelty items that sell at varying prices... Japanese imports, for example.
