This article is comparing the combined sales of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versus the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This will be added to the previously mentioned article starting in the October update.

PS4 and Xbox One vs PS3 and Xbox 360 - Aligned Sales Comparison - September 2014 Update

This chart is comparing aligned sales for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox combined versus combined sales of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PS3 and Xbox 360 both had slow starts, while the PS4 and Xbox One both had the two biggest launches in gaming history. The gap is expected to continue to grow as we head into the holiday period.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in their first 11 month have sold a combined 9.78 million units, while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have sold a combined 17.23 million units. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One lead by a combined 7.46 million units.

Total Combined PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Sales: 9,775,009

Total Combined PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Sales: 17,233,643

Total Lead: 7,458,634 – PlayStation 4 and Xbox One
