Not completely sure how but the 13.48 Wii number is from the week ending 27th Oct 2007 while PS4's number is from the week ending 4th Oct. PS4 did launch one week earlier in the year but the difference that difference is 3 weeks, giving Wii 2 weeks of sales more. Not that it would change Wii being in the lead but something went wrong somewhere.

Also interesting to note is the fact that PS4 is still far in the lead in Europe, in fact it's still tracking ahead of Wii in the West as a whole.

Well, congratz PS4! Of course being a huge Nintendo fan I would like to point out the Wii's only big September release was Metroid Prime 3 :P

It'll be interesting to see what happens during the Holiday season.

I love Nintendo and have myself a WiiU. There are some things I don't like about the WiiU but it's a solid system.

But Wii only sold so well because so much went right for them.

(1) The cheapest console
(2) Innovative motion control
(3) For the first time with Nintendo backwards compatability – retro gamers like me finally unplugged the NES, SNES, Genesis & N64 and moved to another room.
(4) Wii Fit came at the perfect time. Soccer moms, retirement homes, gyms, youth centers all purchased Wii.
(5) Up with PS3 tech like Browser since launch, wifi included, bluetooth & gyroscope in controllers even beating 360 for many years in valuable tech.

But in the end Wii only had it’s exclusives that were really going for it. The power just wasn't there.

I believe PS4 will heavily outsell Wii in the end. Wii's greatest sales were at the beginning of the gen, PlayStations is usually around the first price cut and PS4 is tracking ahead of the best selling console in history the PS2 so far (at least that's what I read the other day from Sony).

Enjoy and game on my friend. I'm looking forward to my copy of Hyrule Warriors coming and getting Super Mario 3D world, I rented it twice and both times had a disk read error :-( but hopefully my own brand new purchased copy doesn't give me that trouble.

Oh yeah, this month PS4 have sold like one monster!

20,000,000 By end of year is bold prediction, but not impossible...

It's going to be very interesting to see how these 3 systems do by the end of their life.

In fairness, if someone is a "gamer" they own a PC gaming rig. My 3 year old daughter could very well own and operate a PS4. It doesn't make her a gamer.

Wii obviously appealed to more gamers than PS4 did in its first 11 months, despite having the more limited and less relevant appeal according to you. This makes its accomplishment all theh more impressive than PS4. All in all though,

wii was not for gamers but casuals and people who want to play those party games like dance

Guys this isn't Wii U. This Wii. Regular old Wii. These also are not current sales.... Stop patting yourself on the back about your Wii U purchase, its still selling like crap

WiiU is keeping xbox one at bay. Not bad for a struggling console. Some huge titles released this year and more to come. I purchased my WiiU about a month ago.

Gotta say I like the gamepad more than I thought I would. Family can play WiiU while I keep on playing my PS4 on the big screen. Or I use it as a secondary tablet to watch me some netflix. Good stuff.
