This is one of my all time personal favorite games. it is fun, addictive, smart, funny, dramatic, moving, memorable, and freakin awesome.

I was supremely dissappointed after i learned that noone had bought this game. I know why it didnt sell. It just had a poor ad campaign. The somewhat cartoonist visuals probably did not appeal to the legion of ignorant gamers who must have each and every polygon rendered in absolute realism. Alls well that ends well however, as i just learned a sequal is on its way. GLORY BE TO GAMERS WoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooT!!!!!!!!

One great thing this game has going for it is its presentation. The cut-scenes are still some of the most entertaining there is to be seen. The voice acting is nailed perfectly, the writing is top-notch, the characters are great ( who wouldnt love a sassy hologram-guy who speaks half in spanish and half in english ala ricky ricardo? or a talking pig as your engineering uncle?) the visuals are great with a unique and fun art style, and lastly the directing is incredible as you will experience emotions ranging from awe,to laughter, to bringing a tear to your eye; all without feeling tacked on or campy.

The other big thing Beyong Good & Evil has going for it is its gameplay. You will never be doing the same thing for too long and just becuase you are whacking a big motha one minute doesnt mean youll be whacking another big motha an hour farther into the game. You can go on a nice scenic boat ride, and then go to the races and then do a story segment, and then take to the skies. The diversity will make you repeatedly say "what next will this game throw at me?" and "more please :D"

The only negatives i have of this game is its length. It is waaaaay too short. as your first play will likely only last around 7-9 hours. After my second playthrough i can finish the game from opening cutscene to end credits in around 4 hours.

If you are interested in videogames at all, you owe it to yourself to pick this cult classic up if you ever come across the opertunity.

While you catch up, i will be impatiently awaiting  the arrival of Beyond Good & Evil 2, camera in hand and methane powered jet boots strapped on tight.

(Also the PS2 version runs like shit compared to the other versions. Still fun but extremely distracting and irritating)

This game is awesome (Except at 50hz) and deserves better than these sales!
