Had a lot of potential, but did not deliver in any regard.

Presentation:

The menus are pretty bare. There is the main quest and options.

*Graphics:

They are good for PS2, but the enemies are mundane and lifeless. The environments are look good, but they are empty. You are alone most of the time. The animations when you summon beasts are good, but once they end, they end abruptly.

Gameplay:

A slight delay in disc-swinging gets annoying after a short while, and button-mashing combat is pretty boring. There isn't much in the way of variety, with 3 different shields (Long, Mid, Short range). Little gems you receive that are supposed to enhance abilities aren't worth the effort to receive them. The boss fights are forgettable.

Value:

I finished the game in 2 days. I spent most of that time exploring too. If you do what I should've done, and avoid exploration, the game will take 3-5 hours. In other words, unless you find it for $2.99, do not buy it.

God of war owes lots to this game in terms of style.

I liked this game. A good sequel of a NES classic. Good graphics for the time too.
