Getting first draft pick
Whenever you start your franchise, turn off the trade deadline. The playoffs need to have started, although you don't have to be in the playoffs. During the wild card round, trade your 1st, 3rd and 6th round picks to the worst team (worst record) in the league for their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks.
