It bombed in Japan but did alright in the west. It just failed to persuade many of the original fans on X360 and PS3 into buying a Wii U.

And that depends on what you classify as stylish action game because NieR Automata already outsold it by a good margin.

@Kyuu, I don't know, given its platform and the fact that stylish action games like this aren't doing that well these days, it seems to done a good job. There´s definetely something off about those adjustments... why there is a figure of only 10k sold in Japan if MC numbers for the 3rd week of this game were a total of 50k? Was the game tracked after its re-release? (http://www.4gamer.net/games/117/G011794/20141008080/). Weird.

For a niche game on a 13m installbase 750k is a pretty good number, specially for a game so different from what Nintendo fans usually buy, the original one only sold a little more than 1 million on X360 after all.

First of all, the first game was on both PS3 and X360, and secondly, it's on a console with inferior sales. Taking all of that into consideration, i'd say it's done pretty well.

If I recall correctly, that 60k in France number was their projection for the end of the year. In the challenges.fr article he says 200k by the end of the calendar year for smash. In the gamekult.com article he uses the same 200k number for smash, and then says the 60k figure for Bayonetta 2.

VGC still has it lower than 60k for the end of 2014, but it is likely that included digital and it is possible it didn't do as well in December as they had hoped.

Also, if B2 is substantially undertracked in those first weeks, then the same would likely be true of a lot of French software. B2 debuted at number 4, and then fell off the top 5 the next week. In that first week, VGC has the best selling software (FIFA PS3) at 16,342. The next week, it has the fifth best selling game (Just Dance) at 8,618. If we are to believe that B2 sales are 2-3x higher than VGC shows, then other software would need to be higher since we know that B2 was 4th in its debut week, and out of the top 5 afterwards.

Nonetheless, I still think this will reach 1M, especially now that she was announced for Smash!

It is obvious that the game is overtracked in NA and undertracked EUR. I'm sure bayonetta is more popular in Europe, she won the smash ballot in Europe after all.

We will never have some adjustment... any way, that what i think.
175,000 NA
140,000 EU
70,000 JP
Globally = above 400,000
Nintendo games have legs, more and more title have more than double the sales lifetime at this point.
So, possible +800,000 lifetime... but under 1,000,000. Sad for the best game of this generation as for now...
