As soon as it reaches 500k then it definitely gets profit.

My jaw will drop to the ground if Heavenly Sword reaches 750.000. Seriously.

Personally I would like to see it happen, but realistically I dont think it will.

of course i think so too.
i think this game wiil reach 1 million seles in 2008.
with Uncharted and Ratchet.
the software sales of PS3 increase very slowly.
because ps3 owners find the good game of PS3 exists after.
after enjoyng movies on BD or DVD,probably.

does 610,000 sales mean that this game made much profit? I think these sales mean there will definetly be a sequel.

This is definitely a must have game if you own a PS3. The graphics in this game just blew me away, the cutscenes are incredible, and Nariko looks pretty damn sexy. People complain about the length, but I don't think I would have been happy if it was longer, it still would have left me wanting more. 10/10

Thought the game was truly great in every aspect other than length, which resulted in me only renting the game. Glad to see that it is doing well though.

One of the PS3's best games, pick it up!! It's definitely worth a purchase and not just a rent, it's that good!!

also very good numbers, it'll be a million-seller in the future especially after this holiday season so I guess we'll be seeing a sequel in a year or two

I wonder how long before the new EU chart numbers get added.

No way this game sold more in the US than the EU. It was it the top 40 chart for UK for over 6 weeks. Reappearing in the top 10 twice.

Being that the UK is the PS3's worst market, Id think it sell much more in other EU countries.

Does anyone know how much it cost to make the game??
I was thinking that if we assume that it sells for $60 us on average and that retailers get 40 and sony 20 then selling 420,000 would net sony 8.4 million dollars because this game is first party.

A solid game. I didn't mind it's short length, it was a nice change from the rest of the games that I play that are so long. The Visuals were stunning and the gameplay wasn't as repetitive to me as some other people felt. By mixing up the button combos and order i found myself discovering new attacks and moves.

I thinks HS was more about getting the game down technically and visually, building the foundation. I think HS2 has the potential for greatness since they will be experienced. Allowing for greater variation of gameplay and depth. Really hoping for the sequel. (I think it will sell enough Worldwide) The Critic reviews were still pretty good, around 80/100 average.

Amazing graphics...GearsOW and Bioshock can kiss Narito's ass.

Still the game play lacks variations. It's to God of warish to me.
It's to simple. Hell I hope they change HS2 to an RPG,hack&slash and puzzly etc...

I gave it a 9 (even if it is not really worth it)

mapledragon2007 posted 01/10/2007, 05:34
Gameplay was solid, unlocking new combos more fun than many other games, it has an interesting enough storyline to keep you hooked to find out what happens next. The evil king is by the actor who was Golum right? It sure felt like him.

Unfortunately, I was stupid and got stuck on the level when Kai has to shoot a lot of assassins to save the old guy. And I forgot about the Aftertouch, that level cannot be beated without Aftertouch, and that feature alone is amazing on that level.

Onwards to more adventuring.

While Flying Fox is great, Bohan and Kai are better.

Actually know-it-all leo-j the game has 6 chapters. I beat it in 5 hours and 23 minutes and i have to confess that if this game was like 10 hours it would be my all time favorite. The graphics are not nearly as good as the CGI but they are truly beautiful. 9/10 from me.

This game most definately deserves mid 8's, its a shame. however its fine since this website/forum has a terrible reputation anyways so seeing these types of scores wont turn off potential consumers form this great game, its mor eIGN that upsets me, but they are also quickly becoming a joke as well with their reviews across the board......i digress, HS is great im going to finish it today, im on the last part of Chapter 3, but I intend on going back to get 3 medals too for every level, hurray for days off!!!!

@night stalker

You just said you havent beat the game and think its short(wtf?).

I have the game

Graphics: Videos lie so much, this game looks better than anything Ive ever seen, remember the commercial in CGI it looks almost that good. Its amazing.

Length: If your an idiot that plays video games 24hours straight(like me :P) Then its about 7 hours.

Story: This is amazing just amazing, best story since kingdom hearts.

NightStalker posted 21/09/2007, 06:55
Still need to beat it, but it is a pretty good game. The animations, cutscenes, scenery, and voice acting in this game are some of the best I've seen. The gameplay was fun, but could get repetitive. It is also too short, and I feel some things in the story could have flowed better. Overall 8/10 =)

@Onimusha12....it really isn't a God of War rip. The fighting system is completely unique (neatest blocking system I've ever, ever seen in a game), the music better, and the graphics better. The story is completely different (not saying better, but good and different). You have 2 main characters to play as and Kai is as unique as it comes!
The only thing that God of War has up on this game is the SIZE of enemy bosses. The gigantic bosses of God of War can give it a more "epic" feel. Other than that, this game is everybit as good as God of War.

Best ps3 game I've played yet...9.0/10.0

Amazing graphics, great gameplay, nothing is repetitive, Epic Story, Masterful Music. CG rivals a real movie (makes FF CG look poor). If this is what the ps3 has to look forward, things are definitely looking bright.

Only downside, it only took around 10 hours to defeat this game; however, there is immense replayability (especially if you want a 3 Glyph rank on each level).

@justthatgamer. In belated response to your comment, yes I mean SSM. I like both the GOW and HS series and I thought they would be the best devs to do a sequel to HS (since the original devs are busy at the moment) and alternate this with the GOW series. My point was I would have preferred this over a prequel which will likely not get as many sales as the main series.

I also think you are a bit confused - you mention HS as being mediocre but then say that SSM could make it and potentially see 3M+ sales.

Because it still sold well and Sony happen to have the rights to the engine and IP. A quality sequel can be pumped out in 2 years or less.

@fauzman Who do you mean by 'they'? Sony Santa Monica? I'm guessing so otherwise why would you mention God of War: Ascension. Anyway God of War III is the most acclaimed and best selling game in the genre of all time so why would anyone want a sequel the the mediocre Heavenly Sword over a new God of War game? Maybe when SSM finish GoW:A they could make Heavenly Sword 2 a launch game for the PS4 as a teaser for what a next gen God of War game could be like. I reckon if Sony Santa Monica made Heavenly Sword 2 it would sell > 3 million.

Beautiful game. Enjoyable, because they mix it up between Kai & Nariko, and the story has really kept my interest. It's a very simple story, but the characterisation makes it stand out. Really impressed with this game, and saddened to hear that the sequel was cancelled. Maybe one day, far in the future...
