Yeah to go head on against Gear of war was stupid on sony's part.This game has the worst marketing campaign next to killzone 3.Sony sticks to release date's though.Sony has acknowledged that the now weak euro, is costing them alot of money.There is really nothing they can do about it either unfortunately they admitted.People are spending money in europe and abroad.I know people who went out and bought an xbox 360 just to get gears of war.This fact alone and with other major releases this season.I think sony should have delayed Resistance 3 release until feb or spring.Just to give it a fair chance without all these games out at once.But whats done is done and I think true fans will buy this title eventually when the dust settles because in the end it is a great game. Insomniac has put out 2 updates so far and the game runs alot smoother onine.I say another update or 2 and this game will run silky fast like killzone 3.Then you will see people wanting the game even more.I own 30 plus ps3 titles this is in my top favorites along with killzone 3.I even like Resistance 3 better than killzone 3 by alittle.The weapons are epic in this game. Europe is also in a finacial crisis as we speak.Alot of sales of resistance 1 and 2 are europe based.Couple that with a crowded market and the psn shutdown slowing down the online.This game is taking a big hit.They delayed the dlc pack because of the 2 month psn development delay for getting the lag and bugs out.I have written to Insomniac and they assure me they are aware and are fixing the online issue's and the dlc delay with updates to ps3..This game is still great online but when they fix the lag issue this game will gain good word of mouth and start to take off.It truly is a great game the story alone and co- op campaign are worth a purchase anyways the online is great and will get better with updates in the future. Im sure sony has accounted for losses but the euro crashing has put them back a bit.Thats why you see the game at a lower price.The usa its still selling at top price.Resistance 3 will sell over a million and you forget also that this whole resistance series ties into together from the ps version the ps3 version and the ps vita games.Im sure sony accounts for all these seperate titles as one profit under one franchise.Not just one game accounts for profit.The bottom line is if and when it gets over a million that is considered a sucess and ps title has sold to close to a million.The ps vita title wil count towards sales also.All under one frnchise house.Claymore your not a sony exec and you can pull all the percetage numbers on what a game actually makes but you dont work for sony and truly do not know what thye consider a success and a profit.You simply do not know unless you work there period. When the online gets fixed this game will take off through word of mouth.This is one og the best games I have played period minus the lagging issues.Gears of war 2 had lagging issues also.Insomniac is trying to give you all the toys the previous games lacked and more.You want to sit there and be a critic these games are very complex and hard to make.This game in all respect is a brand new game the online has never been done on any game like this.Point one game out were you have all these crazy weapons and perks that no other game has.You cant because this game is one of a kind the previous reistance games dont even come close to the weapons in Resistance 3. The only reason these sales numbers are low is because of the PSN shutdown.3 games have suffered sales do to the PSN shutdown.Motorstorm apocalypse,Socom 4 both released at or before the shutdown.Resistance 3 couldnt get the tester's online those 2 months.All 3 games ROCK! Yeah i think it was a very wrong timing to release a FPS other than Battlefield and CoD this season. 1.5 million LT is guaranteed for this. Good word of mouth, holiday season and budget editions will make that happen  Im betting that it will do somewhere between 1.5-2 million LT, which will probably be enough to make a profit. I have no idea why wasnt this advertised more heavily, maybe because Sony lost its trust in the franhise after the dissapointing performance of the second game. I have both Resistance 3 and Dead Island. I got pretty disapointed with dead island, that game was more hype than actual quality, even thouhg it's pretty fun. @osama A poor opening yes, but keep in mind that KZ3 opened at 311k first week in Americas with bundles. This has no bundles, just a Move bundle which doesnt sell well either.
