I just picked this up for £2.98 brand new in GAME. I thought it was the wrong sticker.

It drove me away, so I would believe it could with others. I loved the first one, but held off for a long time on getting the second, it looked like it was more "party" oriented which looked like it just went on to compete with the hundreds of low quality mini-game fests out there. The word "party" isn't going to draw people in like it used to, people wised up a little.

I think the box art also drew away consumers, the first one kind of made yuou look at it and see whats it about. This one looks like another minigame collection that people just arent too much into them anymore.

Do you think the name could have actually drawn away costumers?

This game should have TV ads, just like the first one did. Stupid EA never advertises their games, then they complain about sales. -.-"

This game is a hell of a lot of fun. My only complaint is that recognizing throw motion can be finicky. I played it last night with some friends and two people had a hell of a time getting their throws to translate to anything more than soft lobs. I'm sure they'll crack the code with some practice though.

yeah, Boom Blox 2 would sell : P

but not Bash Party, "2" is more appealing!

eyezofnight posted 08/12/2009, 09:02
seriously they should redo the box art and release it again with BOOM BLOX 2 in big letters and Bash Party in small ones.

It's already past 200k. According to EA, this game is selling better than the original Boom Blox.

ash3336 posted 21/11/2009, 03:10
Christmas should give it a nice boost. Probably to 200k.

@amp316
No, the first one was great, and this one is better. People aren't buying it because they are looking for Boom Blox 2, not Bash Party.

Useless marketing people~!!! DIE!

This game would have sold better with the
name Boom Blox 2 and a plain brown
wrapper, but people charged EA tens of
thousands of dollars to f*** it up!

To quote Bill Hicks, "Is anyone here in
marketing? Kill yourself, seriously,
kill yourself!"

Green Penguin posted 31/10/2009, 12:38
I honestly think that this game sold bad because of the box art. Look at how it says "boom blox" to the side and "bash party" very big in the middle. When I 1st saw this game I was at walmart and at first glance I thougt it was called "Bash Party" I didn't see the boom blox part until I started to look at it good. If others make this mistake too then it could cause lower sales.

This game should really be selling alot more! I mean it's better than the first one in every possible way and really a blast to play! There's a good level editor too, downloadable extra levels and a good multiplayer offering, so why isn't the game selling??

amp316 posted 26/09/2009, 08:54
Terrible sales. Maybe people finally figured out that the first one was crap.

novasonic posted 15/09/2009, 05:08
yeah big mistake EA.. people have finally started to realize that a wii game with 'party' in the title are shaty

Falk Sturmfels posted 05/09/2009, 01:57
@bmmb1: I agree. That shitty "party" hurts it alot.
Message | Report
bmmb1 posted 28/08/2009, 07:03
I think what hurt this game (besides no advertisement) is actually its name. Contrary to popular thinking, I think in this case having the word "party" in the title actually hurt it, personally I bought it becasue of the reviews and despite its name. i think naming it Boom Blox 2 would actually have brought on far better sales..

If it is undertracked, and the legs are better then what we actually see now, this could have some amazing performance in the longrun

Chrizum posted 17/07/2009, 02:12
undertracked by about 40k in America according to NPD. So it should have reached 100k in America already.

SJGohan3972 posted 01/07/2009, 04:40
hmmm..... the original is edging towards a million - EA needs to advertise this and they might be able to cement the franchise with another Million seller by this time next year.

This game delivers. Except that they somehow managed to make the music even more generic in this version. At least it isn't actively abrasive.

It should sell 3 million copies because it's a really good game! Fixes every mistake of the original and then adds in a great download component. I just wish that EA would have offered more medals and achievements with THEIR downloadable levels.
