Amazing game, one of my favorites. Best Mario game ever. Would love to see a true sequel to this 3D Mario. It's open world and non-linear gameplay were right on target. For a second there I thought Mario Galaxy 2 would the spiritual successor to this, but then they blew it with 2D style level select. Come on Nintendo! Do it! Complete the ideas you had for 'Super Mario 128'! On another note, even though 12 million seems 'disappointing', it's good to note that this game sold to 1 in 3 owners of a N64, so that's pretty amazing. Message | Report |

For me, Mario 64 is the best game of all time. Everything was so great, the graphics, the sounds, the music and of course the controls. Lots of variation from level to level, great challenge to get all the stars. For me, i don't think any game can de-throne this one from spot 1! ever! 10/10 Message | Report |

The Moment, when Mario jumps out of the green tube after game starts, was one of the most emotional moments in videogame history. Nintendo had made a game, never seen before and not very often seen after it. SM64 is one of the best Games ever, thats it. Message | Report |

Everyone can have their opinion of course, but you can't - CAN'T - call SM64 a bad game. It was the best game on the 64 and still beats even Galaxy in some areas. If you do not recognize this as a quality game, think twice before calling yourself a true gamer. I had so much fun with this game as a kid...total masterpiece indeed. Message | Report |

it is the game that made me love videogames and put me in the 3d world.everything in this game is revolutionary.every time i play this game it feels new and it truly shows how a platform game must be.nothing would be like we know it in videogames if this game would not exist and eveyone who did not have the chance to play it must run and get it.time will never touch a game like this and it will always be one of the best experiences you can live in a videogame. Regarding the camera in SM64: I recently played Super Mario 64 on the Wii's Virtual Console. I fumbled around with the camera using the right analog stick. It still controlls exactly as I remember it. Sure, modern games have more free-flowing cameras that can spin 180 degrees, but what made Super Mario 64's camera unique is that it rotated to a specific angle, making the moving around in 3D much easier (for me that is). Best.Game.Ever. Way better than the overhyped Halo series. Yes one's a platformer and one's a shooter, but from a pure gameplay perspective, SM64 is one of the best games of all time. Can't wait for Super Mario Galaxy! Mario Sunshine was fun, but it was way too kiddy and that water pack was lame. Message | Report |

Im sorry I have to post this, but i must say this is the game that originally made me leave nintendo. do not get me wrong i have loved almost all other marios... except mario teaches typing. marrio 3 being my all time favorite, and mario galaxy looking like a return to the game style that was so fun so why did i not like it, the audio horrid especially his god awful jumping sound. the camera was hideous, the textures were bad compared to super mario and previous games (I do understand that was a ram limitation). Power ups i mean really WTF you went from some cool stuff in all sorts of different games to flying caps, and other caps. Last and most damning was game-play, it left me feeling bland and uninspired... i stopped playing mario games for 3 years after Mario 64, only to be saved by the snes again. Not to say the N64 was a waste, golden eye was fun, there was another crazy 3d game on motorcycle hover things, and zelda although not normally my cup of tea was good Message | Report |

I have this game with my n64 under my sps3 and next to my gamecube, the ds version had way better graphics and was longer it was wierd playing it again after all those years I just dont seem to like it any more. Message | Report |
