A sequel with new features and song, and of course WM+ to iron out control issues, would make a hell of a game.

Realized the surge of sales in the last recorded weeks. Was it because of the price drop or because of the Holiday season?
Yes, I did buy it, since it was a good enough game.

I have the game, and i can say that both sides are at least partialy right. At first youll have a blast playing the game on EASY, because it IS a fun game. As you progress into harder modes, however, youll have to tinker with the way you play. Like many games, youll find shortcuts in the controls that make the game easier, but these arent obvious. The lazy person wont like this game on HARD+, but if you have an hour or two to spend fiduring out the not so easy controls, youll find that the game is as enjoyable on SUPERHARD as it is on EASY. ANd its only $20 now, so your not makeing a huge investment.

How much do the control problems impact on this game? Reviews seem very mixed with a lot of them saying the controls make parts of it unplayable. How does it compare to something like Wii Sports boxing (which had serious control issues)?

Samba has nothing to do with maracas, mexican characters and style from this game. That bothers me, samba is a Brazilian musical genre.

i can see about 400-500k lifetime fro this game, pretty amazing for a slightly beefed up dreamcast port. That would be an insult if i was talking about most games, but not this one. They didn't need to change any graphics in this one, it's a music game.

I already did, on dreamcast! But i dont want to work on clunky controls just to prove they made it right. I could keep playing WiiBoxe for days and have the best score in the world, that wouldnt make the controls acceptable. Sorry, but i rather do something better on my life than proving a fucked up game is good by finishing it.

Keep up the good work on sonic and samba de amigo games, they are fabulous and respond very well to the controls!

@cinetid

Ive beat the enitre game (includeing Hard and SuperHard carrer) and i still say the controls work fine. You need to mess around with them a lot, and i can see how someone that is small, gives up easily, and mentaly inferior would be unable to grasp the controls. Its nothing that about an hour of playing around with wont solve. Instead of bitching and ranting on about the game, how about you actually try to be a man and finish what you start.

the control is quite good if you lean how to do ti. You can check on calibrate and try to move the same way then you would got more than 90% hit for sure.
The control not 100% good but can not call that bad. I got 100% hit on some song also after I lean about the control.

I quite like this music game but game sale quite not good this game may have problem about people said for the control or what?

I do like all songs on this game more than GH3. But I like both games.

johnsobas posted 26/10/2008, 11:33
guys don't complain too much, there were problems with the original game's controls too (i own it) and in that case you had to buy 2 sets of expensive maracas just to play it. I haven't played the wii version yet but i can tell you that the cords would get in the way of the tracking device and it wasn't always fluid, but it was good enough and the game was really fun.

The controls arent bad, i just bought the game today. Played over an hour. The controls work just fine, youv got to be quite unintellegent to not understand the controls. After a few tweaks (and after finding out how to aim at the same circle with bth hands) ive got it down. Fun game too, yo should buy it people.

the controls are really bad! Sega crapped on this game! Im so sad it sucks because i used to love the Dreamcast version. Unless you think the Boxe from Wii Sports has accurate controls, this is not gonna work for u as it didnt for me. I can hardly get the movements i want specially the superior right ones. Pass this one (unfortunately, i really wanted it to work)

to answer the questions about the controls....

much like the original on the DC...the controls are particular but they work.

to hit the middle rings the wii mote has to be held level. for the upper rings tilted up, and tilted down for the lower rings. then shake to hit a note.

it takes some getting used to but is no more particular then in the DC version when the controls had to be upright at all times.

i've gotten at least 95% or better accuracy on all songs on super hard mode so believe me...the controls work if you have the mind to learn them.

Well it obviously won't sell as well as Mario and Sonic, thats easily the top selling third party game on the Wii, and will likely maintain that position for a good while since its still selling slightly 200K a month worldwide.

I could see this selling about as much as Sega Superstars Tennis or House of the Dead 2 and 3.

This game is very hard to predict the sales. I mean it'll get a decent amount of core sales because it generating kinda a cult following with the original but will the mainstream buy into it.

I mean so many other places keep talking about how this will sell pretty well but I'm just not seeing it yet. Has viral marketing in America but just have to see.

Will not see the success as M&S though as that succeeded for a lot of other reasons.

Montant: But its maintained good legs, still in the Top 50, which is something no one expected. My point is you shouldn't assume a game will be a flop when it could turn into a major hit, especially with Sega games, because they tend to sell weirdly.

Wasn't it you who were laughing at the first week sales of M&S Montana? And everyone laughed at the notion that it could sell anywhere near what Sega was hoping for. It's around 8 million now, according to you guys, though I think Sega had it around 5 million when you guys barely had it at 4, so who knows.

He said "In advance." As in, before the game comes out, he's predicting that the sales will be terrible. And who said that Mario & Sonic had terrible sales "in advance?"

It actually had some pretty nice first week sales, although you wouldn't expect it to hit 4 million.
