This game is very ... meh. I am rarely scared, in suspense, or feeling tension. I mostly run the gauntlet of near-sighted zombies.

That wasn't "popularity" it was hype from publications. Bet they felt pretty dirty before they got to tear it up in the reviews.

@chris100185 it already sold 160K on XBOX 360 alone. 360 version is a way better then Wii version, but is still a game with many problems

Ehh, what? Alone in the Dark was released back on the 3DO in about '93 or '94. I'm assuming that this new version is a remake or something.
