why are the sales so low? I thought silent hill is the 2nd most popular horror game.

Just finished the game and, to my surprise, it was pretty good. Despite some lost frames in the second part of the game, this was a solid Silent Hill title. Too bad it didn't made a bigger impact.

This game surprised me in a good way. I bought last week for 20 bucks and I was amazed by how well they capture the essence of previous Silent Hill games. I have to admit that the monster design is quite meh, and that the camera while you are fighting can be a bit schizophrenic, but overall the game is really great. The graphics can be a bit of a letdown if you are expecting to be awed like with Silent hill 3 or the room graphics by the time they were released on PS2. But they get the job done.

My score: 8.5/10

It's kinda depressing to see that the current batch of "core gamers" these days are more willing to support craptacular franchises like CoD and it's yearly "upgrades" (basically they pay full price for new maps and slightly enhanced version of the game they already owned), than to support games that try to deliver a rich gaming experience. Silent Hill: Downpour bad sales sends the wrong message. That gamers want action and nothing but action games. Too many twitch gamers these days.

Intense, dramatic and atmospheric. Any horror fan should take this trip to Silent Hill!
