Resident Evil Zero was a fun, scary, and may I say "different' spin on the Resident Evil Series. The introduction of a two character system is fresh and implemented well. A good game.

The game starts out where every RE fan wants it to. Before the mansion. What I mean by that is that the game allows the fan to finally see what happened before the series actually started. We all knew from the cutscenes and meeting Rebecca, Richards, Enrico, and the other members of Bravo team in the first game that there was an actual "before" the first game. I mean, the objective going in was to see what happened to Bravo in the first place! So being able to take the role of Bravo was what we wanted to do!

The game takes off with you controlling our young Medic of Bravo team, Rebecca Chambers. We all met her in the first game, playing as her for only a few minutes, I don't know about the rest of you. But I wanted to play as her some more! You enter an abandoned train, hoping to find the recently escaped convict Billy Coen. Well, you find him. And after the rest of Bravo is either wiped out or lost, you find it easier to cooperate with him rather than fight. So from there you take control of two, rather than the usual one characters.

The item system is different as well, you can carry only six slots worth of items, larger weapons taking up two. This pushes you to use both characters as a moving item box of sorts. You now drop items on the ground, and they stay there until you need them. There are no magical teleporting boxes this time around. You can swap aid, ammo, and key items to fit your situation.

The bosses are different, bigger, badder, and all the more gruesome. The game is good at giving you a scare and I believe any true fan of the series should pick it up. Explore the prequel to the series and enjoy the new two character system. Plus it's pretty cheap now. So there really isn't a downside! So go for it and enjoy one of the last good games before the new engine.

Good game so far. The dual characters is kinda weird though.
