Great game in the vein of Zelda and Ratchet, a mix of action/adventure/platformer gameplay. The most appealing thing about this game is that it looks nothing like any other game ever made, it looks like watermark in motion where you use the joystick as a paintbrush to cast spells by drawing them on screen.
The story is you are a goddess in a wolf's body and are trying to defeat the evil dragon Orochi who comes every hundred years to collect a maiden sacrifice from the village of Kamiki and lands darkness upon the land. You have a little bug side kick called Issun who can cast spells my using the power of painting. Eventually you defeat Orochi only to find out that there is a greater threat in the world and that you need to clear all of Japan from this evil.
The gameplay is very familiar to the 3D Zelda games, with the player acquiring different abilities as he/she goes through different areas battling demons and creatures some of which are more challenging bosses.
The game truly looks stunning and blows away games with much better graphics because of the art direction and originality of form. Definitely one of the gems of the PS2 and so late in its lifespan.
