by VGChartz Staff , posted on 20 June 2011 / 3,553 ViewsBrowser-based gaming publisher and developer Bigpoint today announced that it now has over 200 million registered users worldwide.
The company says that it registers over 250,000 users daily. It had 100 million users less than 18 months ago, and the company's rapid growth now ranks it amongst the top gaming networks in the world.
"This is another major milestone that our company has achieved in a short period of time," explains Heiko Hubertz, founder and Co-CEO of Bigpoint.com. "It shows that members of our community recognize our commitment to delivering high-quality games and online experiences, and we want to celebrate that."
Bigpoint's portfolio includes a re-imagining of the Syfy hit Battlestar Galactica, and is currently working on bringing The Mummy franchise to browser-based gaming as well.
With a global distribution network that includes over 1,000 media partners, the company requires its titles to be localized in 25 different languages. Bigpoint has integrated over 180 payment solutions, it says, and processes over one billion transactions a day.
